Projects Massive Screen Only 2.2-inches From Wall
LG Electronics just released the HU85LA 4K UHD Laser Smart Home Theater CineBeam Projector for $5,999. That is a long name for short-throw projector that simplifies a front projection installation, since it need only sit 2.2-inches from the wall. At that distance it projects a massive 90-inch image, but with a little more space (7.1-inches) the screen jumps to 120-inches in diagonal.
Housed in an extreme minimalist design, the LG CineBeam 4K laser projector includes HDR10 high dynamic range capability to deliver far deeper blacks in dark scenes and more life-like bright highlights, meticulously displaying the content as originally intended by the content creators. It also features IP Control with Control4, Crestron, and Savant.
The LG HU85LA projector can simply be placed on a table top or optionally mounted on the ceiling. It also the first projector to have both the Google Assistant and LG ThinQ AI solution built in, allowing for seamless control and content discovery through simple voice commands. No additional device is needed to use the Google Assistant. Furthermore, LG’s smart TV platform enables Netflix, YouTube and Amazon streaming without a set-top box.
The LG HU85LA projects up to a 120-inch diagonal 4K image and its 2,700 ANSI lumens deliver a clear and vivid picture, even in higher ambient light conditions. Unlike conventional projectors that use a blue laser and color wheel, this new ultra short throw 4K projector employs a new optical system that uses a three-channel laser for the separate RGB primary colors, ensuring vivid color reproduction without color loss.
The included LG Magic Remote is also the world’s first to be able to implement both motion-based user interface and backlit functions, ensuring the optimized handling of the projector with smart features.
