Longer Battery Life, More Powerful Performance and Sturdier Build Without Sacrificing Portability
LG Electronics just announced a refreshed LG gram notebook series in 13.3-inch, 14-inch and 15.6-inch screen sizes (models 13Z980, 14Z980, 15Z950) coming January 2018. They feature an ultra-thin design with battery life claims of 19.5 to 22.5 hours (based on 2014 MobileMark criteria) thanks to a highly efficient 72Wh battery.
Equipped with the latest 8th Intel Core i7 and i5 processors and SSD storage, the newest LG gram laptops are more efficient than their predecessors and significantly faster. Unlike other compact notebooks that achieve lower weight or smaller size by minimizing interior space, LG’s gram series offers a second SSD drive slot for even more internal storage for those large video files.
LG’s new gram models are durable enough to use in the extreme environments, passing seven stringent U.S. military MIL-STD 810G durability tests for resistance to impact, pressure and temperature. This improved durability is achieved by the Nano Carbon Magnesium full metal alloy body, often used in the aerospace industry where high strength and light weight are required.
Designed with a host of convenience-enhancing features, users can work late into the night with the backlit keyboard, which also serves as delicate ambient lighting while highlighting the PC’s minimalist profile. And with DTS Headphone:X technology built-in, users can enjoy multi-channel sound of up to 11.1 channels and rich 1.5W hi-fi surround sound.
The 2018 gram notebooks feature LG’s advanced optional features such as Touch Screen, Fingerprint Reader and Thunderbolt 3. LG’s new IPS In-cell Touch technology allows for more delicate, accurate onscreen haptic control without color shift when touching the display. The Fingerprint Reader enables users to log in and power on at the same time with the press of a single button. Plus, Thunderbolt 3 allows for compatibility with Mac products, supports data transfer up to eight times faster than USB Type-C and enables seamless transmission of 4K/5K content to exterior displays.
“The new LG gram PCs have been designed for those users who want an all-round, high performance notebook with maximum portability,” said Tim Alessi, head of product marketing at LG Electronics USA. “The 2018 gram series ticks all the boxes for users who want versatile and lightweight notebooks with faster processing capabilities.”
