The “lifestyle” projector category continues to surprise us with oddly designed models. The Lifestyle Projector Showdown held last year confirmed a wide variance of designs with surprising levels of performance. Because this new category of projectors are easy to place and include automated setup, they’ve opened up a new market for big screen thrill seekers at affordable price points.
Update 3/15/2024: LG has officially changed the name of the Cinebeam Qube to Cinebeam Q with an announced price of $1,299.99.
LG’s new CineBeam Q (model HU710PB) 4K portable projector is more affordable than the company’s largest 2024 OLED and QNED TVs and works best on screens up to 120-inch diagonal size screens.
Tip: A screen is not included, but highly recommended.
LG CineBeam Q turns any indoor or outdoor space into a cinematic viewing experience and can also server as a stylish interior accessory. The HU710PB CineBeam Q features a distinctive design with a convenient 360-degree rotatable handle.
The CineBeam Q incorporates an RGB laser light source and additional image processing technologies. The projector delivers clear, sharp pictures boasting a 450,000:1 contrast ratio and 154 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
For setup, the CineBeam Q comes with Auto Screen Adjustment, which incorporates keystone correction, and an auto-focus feature that automatically optimizes image placement and size for a superb viewing experience, every time. Through webOS, the projector is also compatible with Chromecast and Airplay.
The projector also incorporates LG’s webOS smart platform which provides easy control and access to a diverse selection of streaming services, such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and YouTube.
When not in use for content consumption, users can turn on the projector’s image-mapping function and enjoy digital images that enhance the ambiance of their space.
From YS Lee, vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company: “Great for spaces large and small, LG CineBeam Qube is a unique lifestyle projector possessing all the qualities consumers look for when choosing a new projection solution,…LG’s upgraded projector lineup offers a range of lifestyle-enriching devices that present outstanding spatial integration and versatility as well as immersive, cinematic viewing experiences.“

Note: Although LG touts the ability to project an image up to 120 inches and also support HDR, with only a rated lumens output of 500 Lumens such a large image will not be very bright and the HDR effect will not be that noticeable.
Our suggestion when projecting an image size of 120 inches is that the space should be nearly completely dark to get the best results.
