2022 is going to be a very busy year in the home theater category and we’re pretty certain that UST projectors are going to become one of the most popular products with consumers. The LG CineBeam HU715Q UST and HU710P Projectors have just been announced and there’s quite a lot of information about them to digest.
The HU715Q is a UST (Ultra Short Throw) projector which is great for viewing large images in small spaces as you can place the projector very close to the screen.
The HU710P is a traditional projector that requires more distance from the screen for the projector to display large images but has a great screen size range than the HU715Q. This is more practical in larger rooms.
Both projectors are designed to be easy to set up for either indoor or outdoor (weather permitting) entertainment.
Features Both Projectors Share
Here are some of the core features included in both the HU715P and HU710P CineBeam Projectors.
Imaging Chip: Texas Instruments DLP Digital Micromirror Device (DMD).
Resolution: 4K UHD via Texas Instruments XPR Pixel Shifting (exact process dependent on DLP chip used – Info not provided by LG).
Light Source Life: 20,000 use hours
Motion Processing: LG TruMotion (60Hz native refresh rate with added motion processing).
HDR Support: HDR10 and HLG with Dynamic Tone Mapping. Dynamic Tone mapping makes HDR brightness adjustments on a scene-by-scene or frame-by-frame basis in relation to the projector’s brightness capabilities.
Filmmaker Mode: This feature turns off all unneeded video and motion processing for accurate display of film-based content.
Keystone Correction: In addition to aligning the four-screen image corners, the keystone correction feature allows users to align up to 9 or 15 points for more precise screen image geometry.
Smart TV Platform: WebOS ver 6.0 (Apps include Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, YouTube, Apple TV+, and more through the LG Content Store). A web browser is also included.
Apple Compatibility: AirPlay 2 and HomeKit
Screen Share: This enables users to display content from smartphones, PCs, and USB flash drives through the video projector.
Control: Magic Lighting Control with Voice Capability. Designed for easy use in dark rooms or outside at night.
