LaCie today announced the latest model of its Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton – a new triple interface version consisting of USB 2.0, eSATA, and Firewire 400 in capacities of 500 gigabytes (GB), 750GB and 1 terabyte. Created exclusively for LaCie by noted designer Neil Poulton, the sleek and compact device is fashioned in a black-mirrored finish and includes a unique blue LED strip that creates a rich ambient glow to enhance the storage experience.

The Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton is a compact desktop solution that features natural heat dissipation thanks to a sturdy casing with bottom plate holes for natural airflow. The device can connect to any universal Hi-Speed USB 2.0, eSATA, or FireWire 400 interface port for cross-platform compatibility with either a PC or Mac. Plug and play setup is simple and efficient with Windows 2000, XP, Vista™, and Mac OS X 10.3 or higher.

“We are very excited to offer the new triple interface Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton,” said Lise Manteau, LaCie Desktop Hard Drive Product Manager. “The USB-only version announced late last year has been very popular. With this new product offering, we are now able to reach customers who prefer faster transfer rates with FireWire 400 and eSATA 1.5Gbit connectivity.”

The product comes preloaded with LaCie ‘1-Click’ Backup Software for PC and Mac and the Mac-only SilverKeeper; both are simple to use software solutions for regularly backing up any system. Also preloaded is the LaCie Setup Assistant, a utility that optimizes the drive according to your needs and automatically copies the user manual and utilities to the computer (Mac, Windows, or cross-platform environments).

The 500GB triple interface Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton can store up to 710 movies, 135,000 songs, or 550,000 photos*.

The Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton is available now and may be purchased through LaCie direct and via LaCie’s specialized dealer network at a suggested retail price starting at $149.99.
