Klipsch Ups the iPod Speaker Ante With New iGroove SXT

INDIANAPOLIS (January 8, 2007) — As the iPod continues to strike the right note with consumers and seize 77 percent market share*, Klipsch plans to set a new precedent within the corresponding accessories space by launching a new high-style, high-performance all-in-one speaker solution: the iGroove SXT.

“This latest system further reinforces our commitment to enhancing the digital music experience,” said Tony Ostrom, director of product planning. “The iGroove SXT takes advantage of refined industrial design, high-end materials and innovative technology to deliver classic Klipsch power, detail and emotion like never before.”

The iGroove SXT is a true two-way setup that employs dual 2.5-inch woofers in a ported enclosure, premium crossovers and dual 1-inch MicroTractrix Horn-loaded tweeters. In fact, Klipsch is the only company in this category to utilize horn technology, a design that delivers lifelike sound as well as produces more output using less energy.

The system accepts and charges all iPods with a 30-pin connector. Universal well inserts are included to securely dock the assorted models. The shuffle and other digital devices connect via a rear auxiliary input, while an S-Video output lets users view videos on external monitors. The iGroove SXT comes with an IR remote and is ready to perform as soon as you plug it in and dock an iPod.

Available in a black finish, the iGroove SXT also features a unique black cloth grille. Plus, it has a shallow enclosure depth, making wall mounting an option. Wall brackets will be sold separately on klipsch.com.

“The iGroove SXT separates itself from the iPod speaker pack by offering high-end aesthetics and top-tier sound performance,” said Ostrom.

Slated to hit the market in April, the iGroove SXT will be sold through mass and specialty retailers and carry a $149.99 U.S. MSRP price tag.
