The high-end tabletop wireless loudspeaker category has been largely dominated over the past 5 years by Sonos, Ultimate Ears, Bluesound, Bowers & Wilkins, and Klipsch. Consumers have largely bought into the concept of multi-room audio by adding wireless speakers to each room that are connected through a control app accessible through their smartphones or tablets. It has proven to be a cost-effective way of using the same ecosystem throughout the home. Klipsch’s The One Plus ($249) and The Three Plus ($349) tabletop speaker systems feature real-wood veneers, rounded mid-century modern accents, and a smooth cloth grille.
What’s new?
The new models subtly refresh the retro design of previous models; The One II ($159) and The Three II ($199) were last updated in 2019 (as version II) and originally debuted in 2016. Each of the new “Plus” models add a USB-C input, update Bluetooth to version 5.3, and switch to a bass reflex enclosure from a sealed design.
Tip: The One II McLaren Edition debuted in early-2023 for those who like its racing design.
Broadcast Mode
The newly integrated Klipsch Broadcast Mode is a unique feature available for the Klipsch One and Three Plus tabletop speakers. When activated, Broadcast Mode allows you to wirelessly connect up to 10 individual Klipsch One or Three Plus speakers, thus creating a seamless, encompassing multi-speaker sound experience.
What’s Different?
Although both models look identical, the Three Plus is 1 to 2 inches bigger all around. The Three Plus is also turntable-ready with a built in-phono input, features larger drivers and offers double the amplifier power for more spacious rooms requiring greater output.

Klipsch is my personal favourite for home speakers. But…Everyone I know has a big but so let’s talk about this one.
The nicest desktopish Bluetooth speaker I own is made by Marshall. It is the Stanmore II and I bought it several years ago because of what it has. Bluetooh? Yes…But it also has WiFi and Wifi is mo’ bettah fo’ my needs.
I use it to play Amazon Music when I do not want to turn on the HEOS speakers in the room. It plays music just fine and looks pretty good doing it. I have even sent *GASP* a signal from a *DOUBLE GASP* Crosley C6B-MA (with aftermarket acrylic platter!) to the Marshall and it did so quite well.
I just like having the convenience of WiFi as I also play my choice for the Great American Songbook on the interwebs, “The Great American Songbook Radio Station” out of the Netherlands!
If Klipsch ever does a WiFi capable speaker like one of these I will gladly consider buying one. If not for me, then for someone I care about. Kilpsch has the look. So too does my Marshal Stanmore II but it also has the WiFi.
Maybe Klipsch already makes a similar speaker with WiFi?!
