Klipsch today announced that it is developing breakthrough headphones with integrated controls on the earphone cord for the new third generation iPod shuffle with Apple’s new VoiceOver feature. These new headphones will give users the ability to play, pause, adjust volume, switch playlists and hear the name of the song and artist with just the press of a button.
“We are delighted to be able to utilize this exciting technology. Our focus on innovation means we’re ideally suited to support revolutionary designs like VoiceOver,” said Paul Jacobs, president and COO of Klipsch Group, Inc. “When you combine Apple’s market position with our 63 years of experience in high-performance audio, you can expect one of the coolest, most advanced headphone designs out there. It’s definitely a platform that will re-define the music experience for our customers.”
The new third generation iPod shuffle with the VoiceOver feature can speak song titles, artists and playlist names. When you want to know the name of the song or artist playing, simply press a button on the conveniently located headphone controls and iPod shuffle tells you the song and artist name. iPod shuffle can even announce status information, such as battery life.
The Klipsch headphones are expected to be available this summer for $99.99.
