KICKER just announced the Amphitheater K3 (IK3BT), a mid-size wireless speaker featuring Bluetooth aptX and near-field communication (NFC) technology that allows users to link their compatible device to the speaker system simply by tapping the two together.
The desktop speaker comes fully stacked with mid-bass woofers and an exclusive tuned-port enclosure that deliver enhanced bass response and a larger-than-life sound. This unassuming system (HWD 4.5 x 11.8 x 6.2) packs a lot of punch and fits in most small spaces, perfect for a shelf in the bedroom or desk at the office. An integrated amplifier with DSP provides substantial power for rich, full-range performance. In addition, innovative aptX technology maximizes the Bluetooth sound and experience by maintaining as close to CD-quality audio as possible.
The Amphitheater K3 is able to accommodate non-Bluetooth media devices by hard-wiring them into a beneficial 3.5mm auxiliary-input. A USB port is available to power and charge all external media devices. LED status indicators prevent listener confusion by revealing source and function cues. On the top of the cabinet are four buttons that easily control sourcing (Bluetooth or aux-input), volume up or down, and play/pause, so music can be piloted by fingertip.
Price and Availability
The KICKER Amphitheater K3 will begin shipping first quarter, 2014 for $199.95.
