For 2012, JVC announced two high-speed 6.1-inch and two 7-inch WVGA display in-dash A/V navigation systems offering over ten professional sound setting adjustments as well as a graphic thirteen band equalizer and time alignment. Screens offer beautiful picture for both map display and video playback with upgraded super-fine WVGA LCD Monitors. Various map display features as well as quick response and operation are enabled with a two times faster high-speed data processing LSI, 8GB Solid State Drive with over 8 Million Points of Interest, and an S3 format data compression system for quick data storage and recall which allows faster menu and route calculations. Start-up time takes only 8 seconds from key-on to full navigation usability.
Two out of four models feature connectivity to the HD Radio network including a free lifetime subscription to Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic HD+/Total Traffic Connect : a service providing on-screen real-time traffic, news, sports, and weather updates. The HD Radio package also includes a bookmark function to store favorite song information from music heard on HD Radio stations. Bookmarks generate on-screen QR codes which can be scanned by smartphones to download favorite songs instantly.
Also new for 2012 navigation models with built-in HD Radio technology is a channel guide allowing HD Radio station and FM/AM radio station browsing by song and artist title. All new models integrate with both Pandora internet radio and ClearChannel's iHeartRadio music streaming services. They also include fully functional Bluetooth with Simple Secure Pairing and feature SiriusXM compatibility, using the new SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (sold separately, XM subscription required). The SXV200 is a compact solution that can be mounted behind the dashboard and connects directly to the receiver using one simple cable. It is also plug and play — there are no translators or tuner programming required.
The KW-NT300 ($899.95) is a DVD/CD/USB/SD Navigation receiver with a 6.1-inch touch panel featuring Bluetooth wireless technology, and map features such as: Junction View, Off-Axis View, 3D Viewing with 3D Footprint, 360 degree rotation and built-in color 3D landmark icons in most major cities. In addition the unit offers voice guidance with turn-by-turn voice commands. The unit offers a 1A current capable rear USB port with drive change mode and over 30,000 variable-color illumination choices.
The KW-NT500HDT ($999.95) Navigation head unit is also a 6.1-inch LCD monitor that adds built-in HD Radio audio and data tuners. It includes a free lifetime subscription to Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic HD+/Total Traffic Connect providing on-screen news, sports, weather, and real-time traffic updates with free flow data.
The KW-NT700 ($1,099.95) Navigation receiver steps up to a 7-inch a motorized faceplate with five positions of tilt and a reverse tilt feature for installation in vehicles with highly slanted dashboards.
The KW-NT800HDT ($1,299.95) Navigation head unit carries the same common features of these models and adds built-in HD Radio audio and data tuners. Also included is a free lifetime subscription to Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic HD+/Total Traffic Connect for on-screen news, sports, weather, and real-time traffic updates.
