JVC 768p Flat Panel LCD HDTVs Introduced

JVC LAUNCHES NEW LINE OF 768P FLAT PANEL LCD TVs

LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2007 — A new line of high definition LCD televisions from JVC offers enhanced performance, a wide range of connectivity options and sleek new cabinets. The new line of JVC 768p flat panel LCD TVs includes three screen sizes — 32, 37 and 42 inches — and each is available in black or black and silver.

The new models are the LT-32E478, LT-37E478 and the LT-42E478, which feature a black and silver cabinet. The black cabinet models are the LT-32E488, LT-37E488 and LT-42E488. All use a 1366 x 768P WXGA panel. Outstanding picture quality is ensured through the use of JVC’s Genessa 32-bit CPU video processing, which seamlessly up-scales any video source to display at 768p. Standard definition signals are improved through new Natural Progressive IP conversion, improved scaler performance and a new PLL system that improves the performance of a composite signal. All three sets offer a wide 178-degree viewing angle.

Genessa includes a Digital Video Noise Reduction that reduces the “graininess” for both analog and digital video source, a Block Noise Suppressor that detects and eliminates “block noise”, a Mosquito Noise Suppressor that eliminates noise in low bit-rate signals without degrading the image, and a 3D Y/C comb filter with DTV Cross Color Eliminator that uses an advanced 10-bit 3D Y/C separation process to eliminate cross color and dot interference that is imbedded in older source material.

To optimize performance for different room situations and program material, the sets offer four picture modes — standard, dynamic, theater and game. To further tailor the set to content, there are four 16:9 aspect modes — cinema zoom, panorama zoom, full and slim — and four 4:3 aspect modes — panorama, cinema, full and regular.

All three sets offer a full complement of inputs — two HDMI inputs, two component inputs, three composite inputs, one S-Video input, and a USB input for viewing digital photos.

The audio package in JVC’s new LCD TVs is comprised of a 10-watts-per-channel amplifier and JVC’s Advanced Hyper Surround for simulated surround sound. Also included is JVC’s Smart Sound feature, which maintains a constant volume level as content changes (such as from program material to commercial). The LT-37E478/488 and LT-42E478/488 add twin oblique cone speakers.
