FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WOODBURY, NY — JBL, Inc., is expanding its Studio L Series lineup at CEDIA 2007 with the introduction
of its LS360C in-ceiling home theater loudspeaker, designed to deliver reference-quality sound in a wide variety of home entertainment, custom-installation and multiroom audio applications.
The JBL LS360C is engineered to deliver sound quality far superior to that of conventional in-ceiling speakers. It utilizes the company’s advanced-technology Radiator Plus flat-panel woofer, which is constructed from an aluminum/ceramic multilayer diaphragm material that is far more rigid and lightweight than other types of cone materials, yielding exceptional resolution. The Radiator Plus woofer incorporates a host of additional refinements, including a dual elliptical-voice-coil design with high-power neodymium magnets for outstanding dynamic capability, and a suspension design that enables the driver to behave more like an ideal pistonic radiator for superior clarity and transient response.
The Radiator Plus woofer is complemented by dual 3-inch OCC (Organic Ceramic Composite) midrange drivers and a 1-inch pure-titanium tweeter mounted in an Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide, to deliver clear and detailed sound quality with a smooth, natural tonal balance over a wide listening area. All the drivers in the LS360C are mounted on baffles that are angled to provide superior dispersion and an expansive sound field from a space-saving, in-ceiling configuration.
The LS360C is supplied with an integral back-box rear enclosure that is optimized for maximum bass response and efficiency. The enclosure also provides acoustic isolation to minimize sound leakage into adjacent rooms, regardless of the type of ceiling in which the speaker is installed.
To optimize its performance in any location, the LS360C includes a low-frequency boundary compensation switch and a tweeter-level control. The LS360C is perfect for use with other JBL in-wall, in-ceiling, floorstanding or wall-mountable loudspeakers, and with subwoofers. The LS360C is designed for ease of installation in both new and existing homes; optional rough-in frames are available for preconstruction installation.
The LS360C joins the other models in the acclaimed JBL Studio L Series lineup, which includes a complete range of in-wall, in-ceiling, wall-mountable, bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers. All Studio L Series loudspeakers feature technologies that are derived from the company’s professional models to deliver audiophile-quality sound in a wide variety of custom-installation and home entertainment applications.
The JBL Studio L Series LS360C in-ceiling loudspeaker will be available in October 2007 at a suggested retail price of $599 each.
