Following are highlights of JBL’s products and systems making their debut at CEDIA 2006 at the Colorado Convention Center, Booth 644 (September 14 — 17, 2006).
JBL Performance Series: A Versatile Lineup of High-End Home Theater Audio Systems
The JBL Performance Series encompasses an extensive selection of turnkey, high-end, custom-installation home theater audio systems that include electronics and loudspeakers. The Series offers a choice of multichannel home theater audio solutions, all designed to provide extraordinary sonic realism, control flexibility and ease of use while integrating seamlessly into the home environment.
All JBL Performance Series systems are based around the AV1 Surround Processor/System Controller and AVA7 7-Channel Power Amplifier, both engineered to deliver state-of-the-art sound and offer versatile connection and control options with source components and high-definition-display devices.
A variety of loudspeakers are available, including in-wall speakers and subwoofers, on-wall and stand mount models, outdoor speakers, powered subwoofers, and additional models. All the speakers are constructed using premium-quality JBL drivers and components to deliver exceptional clarity, detail, dynamic impact and tonal accuracy over a wide listening area.
The on-wall PT800 tower loudspeaker, PS1400 subwoofer, and PC600 center channel feature a modular design that enables the PT800 to be stacked atop the PS1400 subwoofer, mounted separately on a wall, or installed on optional available stands, providing maximum installation flexibility. Their shallow-profile enclosures occupy a minimum of floor space. To deliver extraordinary sound quality, the JBL Performance Custom Series in-wall speakers utilize pure-titanium tweeters, and woofers and midrange drivers made from an advanced-technology aluminum/ceramic multilayer diaphragm material, and include built-in front-panel controls to allow precise sonic tailoring. Other available loudspeakers include the Specialist and Integrator Series premium in-wall and in-ceiling models, and a wide range of subwoofers and center channel, surround and outdoor speakers to accommodate virtually every home entertainment requirement.
Pricing for JBL Performance Series systems ranges from approximately $10,000 to $30,000.
JBL Synthesis One Array: Upgraded to Deliver State-of-the-Art Performance
JBL is showcasing its JBL Synthesis One Array ultrahigh-end complete custom-installation home theater and music system in a spectacular 7.2-channel installation. Upgraded from the previously available Synthesis One package, the THX Ultra2-certified Synthesis One Array delivers the ultimate in audio and video performance in every respect. It includes JBL’s new SDP-40HD surround processor/ preamplifier; the SDEC4000 digital equalizer/crossover (which is being introduced at CEDIA); the groundbreaking Synthesis Array Module (SAM) SAM 1 midrange/high-frequency loudspeaker array; and the SAM 2 low-frequency loudspeaker array.
The 7.2-channel JBL Synthesis SDP-40HD is a state-of-the-art surround processor/preamplifier that delivers unsurpassed digital audio and high-definition video quality. It offers numerous advanced features, including six HDMI inputs and two 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analog converters operating in dual-mono mode for each audio output. The SDEC4000 digital equalizer optimizes the performance of a Synthesis multichannel system by the application of ultraprecise multiband digital parametric equalization and leading-edge DSP technologies.
JBL’s SAM 1 and SAM 2 loudspeakers are engineered to deliver extraordinary sonic accuracy and bring the configurable installation versatility of the company’s acclaimed VerTec line-array professional audio loudspeakers to home listeners. The SAM 1 midrange/high-frequency loudspeaker shares many of the driver technologies found in JBL’s ultrahigh-end K2 Series and Project Array loudspeakers, providing remarkable resolution, wide dynamic range and high-frequency response to beyond 40kHz. The SAM 2’s woofers utilize exclusive JBL Metal Matrix technology, in which the aluminum woofer cones are deep-anodized to produce lightweight, rigid driver diaphragms that provide superlative articulation.
The SAM 1 and SAM 2’s modular design enables them to be easily attached together to create loudspeaker arrays in a variety of configurations. In the Synthesis One Array system, the SAM 1 and SAM 2 are complemented by six S4Ai multipolar in-wall surround loudspeakers and the S1S-EX 18-inch subwoofer.
The JBL Synthesis One Array complete home theater audio system is currently available at a suggested retail price of $75,000.
