— Compact Home Theater Speaker Packages Combine Elegant Styling With Superb Sound Quality and Flexible Installation Options —
WOODBURY, NY — At CEDIA 2006, JBL is expanding its JBL Cinema Sound loudspeaker lineup with the introduction of its CS6100 and CS480, two compact 5.1-channel home theater loudspeaker systems that combine an all-new, distinctively elegant design with exceptional sound quality and installation flexibility.
In addition, the company is debuting its CSB5 wall-mountable satellite loudspeaker, which complements the styling of its currently available JBL Cinema Sound components, and enables
a greater variety of home theater system installation options.
Paul Bente, president of JBL, pointed out: “The JBL Cinema Sound CS6100 and CS480 represent a completely new design approach for the company; one that’s a total departure from anything we’ve done in the past, and a look that points to what consumers can expect from JBL in the future. Equally important, both systems deliver the natural, musically accurate, high-resolution sound that is the hallmark of every JBL product.”
JBL CS6100 and CS480: Beautiful Design, Superlative Performance
The JBL Cinema Sound CS6100 and CS480 both include four wall-mountable satellite speakers and a wall-mountable center channel speaker. The CS6100 also features a 10-inch, 200-watt subwoofer, and the CS480 includes an 8-inch, 100-watt subwoofer. Both systems are supplied with wall-mount brackets for the satellites and center channel, in addition to all necessary cables.
The CS6100 and CS480 systems are designed to integrate beautifully into any multichannel home theater system and decor. The satellites and center channel are striking and unique in appearance, with sleek, curved and tapered enclosures finished in high-gloss black, accented by black grilles,
and chrome tops and end caps. The subwoofers feature a metallic-silver and high-gloss-black finish that perfectly matches the loudspeakers. The slim, contemporary design of the loudspeakers makes them ideal for use in any home entertainment system, especially those based around ultrathin rear-projection TVs and flat-panel displays.
Both systems offer versatile installation flexibility. The satellites and center channel are supplied with multifunction swivel brackets and fixed wall-mount brackets, and can be wall-, shelf- or stand-mounted
for optimum positioning. The satellites and center channel are also compatible with popular mounting hardware from third-party manufacturers. The subwoofers are compact, facilitating easy integration into any room, yet provide powerful and musically accurate bass.
The satellites in the CS6100, and the center channel in both systems, incorporate a 3/4-inch tweeter and dual high-output 3-1/2-inch woofers. The CS480 satellites have a 3/4-inch tweeter and a 3-1/2-inch woofer. The CS6100 subwoofer features a high-excursion 10-inch woofer and 200-watt amplifier, and the CS480 subwoofer includes an 8-inch woofer and 100-watt amplifier. The CS6100 and CS480 utilize high-quality drivers and components, such as titanium-laminate tweeters that operate in conjunction with JBL’s exclusive Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide, and PolyPlas woofers. Both systems deliver dynamic, enveloping surround sound with a smooth, natural tonal balance, wide frequency response and exceptional resolution.
The JBL Cinema Sound CS6100 home theater loudspeaker system will be available in December 2006 at a suggested retail price of $1,099. The CS480 system will be available in December 2006 at a suggested retail price of $799.
