INDIANAPOLIS (January 8, 2007) – Introduced at the turn of 2006, the Jamo i300, a standalone powered subwoofer/satellite speaker system that turns your iPod into the heart of a full-fledged home entertainment system, has proven to be an award winning global success for Jamo.
The fact that it offers hi-fi quality performance in an elegant, compact package has brought it a legion of new fans. Reviewers have consistently acknowledged its sonic superiority over the competition.
To stay in step with the arrival of iPods with video capability, we are pleased to announce that the i300 will now sport an S-video output, capable of outputting video at the resolution determined by the iPod. Simply hook it up to a TV display with an S-video input and you can now see and hear your recordings.
The rest of the i300 package remains unchanged. Comprised of an iPod control dock, a powerful active subwoofer plus two compact satellite loudspeakers this attractive package comes with a long-range radio frequency remote control — so you can control the system, your iPod (and your tunes) from another room.
But this 2.1-channel system’s versatility extends far beyond filling your room with iPod tunes. The control dock (which charges your iPod too) is also fitted with an extra auxiliary input on its rear panel so that you can hook up your computer, portable DVD player or game console. Still have another source that you want to hook up? No problem – there’s yet another input on the subwoofer itself.
Setting up the system is simple. A new Universal iPod “well” means that you’ll be able to use any dockable iPod (non-dockable 1st/2nd generation iPods can be hooked up via the auxiliary input).
Operating the system is easy too. Turn the volume control on the dock and the volume light-bar indicator gets brighter. The remote control, meanwhile, allows you skip backwards and forwards through and from track to track, pause the music and change the volume.
But the real magic is the sonic performance. The A 102 two-way speakers are magnetically-shielded, finished in gloss black and silver, and can be wall or table-top mounted. These little marvels feature a precision-engineered 76mm/3-inch coaxial driver that delivers truly accurate sonic imaging when driven by the amp (2 x 75w) contained in the subwoofer.
What’s more, the subwoofer is just as capable with a 150W high-efficiency amplifier powering a 6.5-inch bass driver, all housed in a solid but very compact reflex-ported enclosure.
