Brings TV Viewing with Time-shifting and Scheduled Recordings to Home and Mobile PC Users
FREMONT, Calif. – InterVideo Inc. (NASDAQ:IVII) announced today that WinDVR™ 6, the latest version of its Digital Video Recorder (DVR) software, is being bundled with Guillemot Corporation’s Hercules brand Smart TV DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast-Terrestrial) TV Tuner. The DVB-T TV Tuner is an ultra-compact USB 2 device that enables desktop and mobile PC users to watch free digital terrestrial TV on their computer screen. By including InterVideo WinDVR software with the Hercules DVB-T, users can enjoy time-shifting features such as pausing and replaying live TV. They can also record TV programs on their PC’s hard drive or to disc for viewing at their convenience and can.
Measuring only 1 x 2.5 x 9.5 cm, the Hercules Smart TV DVB-T is an external device that is ideal for small spaces, people on-the-go and consumers who don’t want to have to open their PC to install a TV tuner card. Although it is smaller than a computer mouse, it provides the same resolution as a DVD and digital satellite TV. With USB 2 connectivity, the device is immediately recognized by the PC without having to reboot. Smart TV DVB-T also comes with an ergonomically-designed infrared remote control for easy navigation.

DVB-T is employed as the digital over-the-air television transmission standard in Europe and in non-EU countries such as Australia, India, New Zealand, Singapore. The company managing the DVB-T platform in France recently reported that three months after the launch of digital terrestrial television services in France, about 685,000 receivers were sold and sales increased to 900,000 units by the beginning of November.
