THX Ultra Certified 11.2-channel AVR
Integra just announced a new flagship A/V receiver, the DRX-R1.3 THX Ultra Certified network receiver for $3299. It is an 11.2-channel home theater powerhouse supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X up to 7.2.4 channels along with IMAX Enhanced for IMAX digitally remastered content.
It integrates powered or line D/A audio into three zones and has three HDMI outputs for 4K/60p and HDR10+ video to the main TV and projector while enabling playback of another source on a Zone 2 display. 4K HDBaseT supports 4K HDR video and control over long distances. Chromecast built-in, Alexa, and AirPlay 2 are all supported.
The Integra DRX-R1.3 delivers 140W per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 channels driven, FTC) and all the latest 4K video support and multi-channel audio processing, including full HDCP2.2 support. It also shares the same design concept using copper screws to lock modular circuitry blocks to a double-skinned insulated frame, additional internal bracing to enhance the products anti-resonant characteristics, floating circuit boards, multiple 32-bit DSPs and DACs, plus a custom shielded power supply and shielded amplification, all of which harmonize to isolate signals from noise. The result is absolute sonic purity at earth-shaking volume through High-Current Amplifier design, highlighted by a custom-made magnetic-flux low-hum EI power transformer.
THX Select Certified 9.2-channel AVR
For those only needing a 9-channel A/V Receiver, Integra also announced a step-down AVR that chops $900 off the price in exchange for a 5-watt per channel reduction and two less amplifiers. Although still costly at $2,399, the new DRX-7.3 is a 9.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver that maintains IMAX Enhanced compatibility in conjunction with THX Select Certification (a lesser standard).
The DRX-7.3 Network A/V Receiver handles 5.2.4-ch Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound expandable to 7.2.4-ch (with external stereo amp) for a full IMAX Enhanced movie experience. With 135W per channel (8 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2-ch driven, FTC), the DRX-7.3 has 7 HDMI inputs & 3 outputs plus a front HDMI input, as well as HDMI2.1 eARC support. Like its Dot 3 series counterparts, the DRX-7.3 boasts a faster NXP iMX8 network processor, and is updated to include Zone-B lineout for wireless headphones.
