Features Dynamic Messaging System and Boasts DisplayLink and ProjectorNet 3.0
InFocus Corporation (NASDAQ:INFS), the industry pioneer in digital projection today announced that the IN3108, the company’s latest premium meeting room model is now shipping. This new offering from InFocus is a powerhouse of innovative features packed in an appealing high gloss casing. This Wide XGA (1280 x 800) native model offers DisplayLink for Windows and Mac–enabling users to “connect and project” instantly over USB connection and also features ProjectorNet 3.0 networking capabilities when used with the ProjectorNet Adaptor. In addition, the IN3108 boasts 3,500 lumens with DLP BrilliantColor for bright presentations with true-to-life colors.
The IN3108 also comes equipped with the InFocus Dynamic Messaging System (DMS), which is an internal broadcast solution that allows for instant onscreen display of messages to networked InFocus projectors. This state of the art projection solution can run 24/7 and has the quick start convenience of LiteSwitch, InFocus’ Instant On/Off feature which effectively reduces downtime between meetings.
“Technology enhancements for meeting rooms can have big payoffs for companies, such as efficient group collaboration and increased productivity,” noted David Woolf, InFocus’ Vice President of Marketing. “With features such as DisplayLink USB, LiteSwitch and ProjectorNet 3.0, InFocus’ IN3108 raises the bar for meeting room productivity, making it even easier to conduct presentations during meetings.”
The IN3108 also features an array of connectivity options such as HDMI, RS-232, VGA ports, and a Wireless-Ready port for LiteShow II Wireless to ensure that the IN3108 can project from any video source or wireless computer. A projection range of 5-36 feet allows installation flexibility in nearly any room.
“As a wildlife filmmaker, I was looking for a projector that would provide superior image quality and true-to-life colors that would showcase the brilliance of our nature footage,” noted Laura Sams, who, along with her brother and co-producer Robert Sams, manages Sisbro Studios and uses the IN3108 to share their wildlife films around the country. “I often travel to schools and museums to show our films, so I also needed something that would travel well, and would be very bright in less-than-ideal lighting situations. The IN3108 was the perfect solution for us.”
InFocus’ Dynamic Messaging System Converts Networked InFocus Projectors Into An Internal Broadcast Solution
InFocus’ IN3108 is the company’s first projector to feature the company’s proprietary Dynamic Messaging System (DMS) — making it even easier for administrators to relay important messages for onscreen display to specific projectors or an entire network of projector systems. The DMS feature is perfect for instant broadcast of schedule changes, emergency notifications, weather warnings and breaking news on a campus or facility wide level.
DisplayLink Reduces Meeting Downtime between Presentations
By using the DisplayLink feature, both Windows and Mac-based presenters can enjoy “plug and project” convenience by simply connecting a standard USB 2.0 cable to the projector. The InFocus DisplayLink Windows/Mac driver is detected by the computer and will configure with the DisplayLink-enabled InFocus projector settings within seconds — resulting in reduced set-up time and toggling so users can start projecting instantly. Users will appreciate DisplayLink’s multi-display capability, which makes it possible to project up to six projectors simultaneously from just one computer. This feature also allows users to present content from multiple sources during meetings, making it an ideal solution for videoconferences and collaborative meetings where two or more inputs need to be shown simultaneously. This same feature enables users to create video walls without the need for expensive third party adaptors.
ProjectorNet 3.0 Gives Total Control of InFocus Projectors on the Network
ProjectorNet 3.0 is a complementary projector management solution designed to remotely manage multiple installed InFocus projectors on the network. With functions such as automatic report generation, On/Off scheduling, theft prevention alerts, and dynamic messaging through DMS, this simple but powerful software application will assist network administrators in managing their InFocus assets efficiently. The IN3108 can be controlled by the ProjectorNet 3.0 with the use of the ProjectorNet Adaptor, a network plug-in device that adds Ethernet connectivity to the IN3108.
LiteShow II Option Enables Cable Free Presentations
InFocus’s LiteShow II wireless adapter option enables cable-free presentations, resulting in less down time when switching users during presentations. Data, audio and video can be transmitted via the LiteShow II wireless adapter over a 300-foot range.
“With easy networking and connectivity, the IN3108 is a projector that is perfect for a corporate meeting room environment. Our clients have noticed a significant amount of time saved in-between company meetings with the DisplayLink technology,” stated Eric Curry, Oregon Account Executive for CompView Inc.
