HP announced a new ENVY x2 is set to arrive Spring 2018. The company is calling it a Windows detachable PC that combines the best of a smartphone experience with the best of a Windows PC. In other words, it’s a large, 12.3-inch Windows 10 S tablet with a pen and detachable keyboard for laptop-like productivity. ENVY x2 features built-in 4G LTE (requires service contract) and Wi-Fi along with battery life claims of up to 20 hours.
HP ENVY x2 is a fanless, thin (6.9 mm) and light (1.54 lbs) CNC Machined Aluminum tablet. It features a 12.3-inch diagonal touch WUXGA+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for increased durability and scratch resistance when on the go. A power efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 architecture allows it to be always on and in sync for instant-on access. Its Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 LTE modem supports 4G LTE-Advanced with ultra-fast downlink speeds. Optional configurations will include up to 8 GB LPDDR4X PoP memory, and up to 256 GB of storage.
The ENVY x2 is wrapped in a sophisticated leather-like textured case in Oxford Blue and integrates a 110 to 150-degree adjustable stand to transform the device into laptop mode for comfortable viewing. The backlit keyboard has a 1.3mm key travel for a smooth typing experience in any lighting condition.
