HP has introduced the 20-inch 2011xi and 23-inch 2311xi IPS LED backlit LCD monitors, their first consumer displays to feature IPS (in plane switching) panel technology. HP claims these monitors offer a superior viewing experience from any angle, and are an ideal medium for sharing photos, videos or games. Advanced IPS technology allows for consistent, vivid color and increased brightness, even if users are viewing content from the side of the monitor. IPS monitors have higher color fidelity than TN (twisted nematic) panels and compliment off-center viewing to ensure image accuracy and color consistency regardless of where friends and family are seated.
The HP 2011xi and HP 2311xi feature an ultraslim, modern frame designed to complement any home environment. They are designed with the environment in mind, boast mercury-free LED backlighting, and are ENERGY STAR qualified and EPEAT Silver registered.
Additional features of both monitors include a 178° wide viewing angle and 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The 23-inch model offers 1920×1080 resolution, while the 20-inch display offers 1600×900 resolution.
