Home Automation Inc. (HAI) Updates Award-Winning Web-Link II, Home Control for Windows Media Center, and Snap-Link Software for Vista Compatibility and Expanded Audio Control
New Orleans, LA — Sept. 6, 2007
HAI, the leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, has updated its software offerings, including Web-Link II, Home Control for Windows Media Center and Snap-Link to be used with compatible versions of the Windows Vista operating systems and has added various audio control options.
HAI’s award-winning Web-Link II and Snap-Link software products both allow access and control of all HAI home control systems, such as lighting, security and temperature settings, over the Internet. Web-Link II is designed for homeowners who run a home server and allows for video surveillance and recording based on event. Snap-Link comes on a USB drive and requires no on site computer. It simply plugs into any computer and provides quick, secure access and control over the Internet to check and adjust temperatures, security, lighting or audio settings.
Home Control for Windows Media Centers (WMC) is software that allows full access and control of all HAI home control functions via a Windows Media Center device. Doing so provides convenient control of security, temperature, lighting and Whole Home Audio in consort with all of the sophisticated entertainment features of the Windows Media Center. This gives homeowners the convenience of controlling all home automation functions on their television set using a Media Center remote control.
With the Vista update, HAI Home Control, Web-Link II and Snap-Link now support communications with Whole Home Audio systems supported by HAI home controllers. The status (i.e. power state, current volume, mute status, and selected source) of each named audio zone is displayed along with various controls for the zone and source. When connected to source equipment that generates metadata (i.e. Song Title, Artist, Genre, Album Name, Channel Number, Channel Name, etc.), the status along with the source metadata is displayed.
“The inclusion of audio control in the various HAI software products gives users more flexibility and options to interface with their whole home audio system” explains HAI Director of Technical Services, Scott Dudoussat. “In addition to interfacing with their audio system from a Touchscreen, when using HAI Home Control, users can also control their audio system using their existing television set and handheld remote control, or when using Web-Link II or Snap-Link, users may control their audio system using a wireless handheld device; or even over the Internet from a remote location.”
HAI products are sold through a worldwide network of Distributors and installed by over 1000 trained dealers. For more information on HAI’s award winning products, please visit www.homeauto.com or call (800) 229-7256.
