Hisense today announced the XT880 series of Ultra High Definition (UHD) televisions in 50-, 58- and 65-inch screen sizes. Packing four times the number of pixels into the same screen sizes as traditional 1080p HDTVs, UHD (4K) technology enables stunningly realistic picture quality and beautifully natural motion with incredible detail, offering one of the most immersive entertainment experiences available in 2D or 3D today. In addition to live TV, the XT880 supports a variety of streamed content, web browsing and search, social networking, games and apps through intuitive on-screen navigation.
Cleverly designed into the top of the XT880 bezel is a USB-mounted camera that can easily be detached for additional privacy. Together with the remote control’s built-in microphone, the XT880 enables a range of gesture and voice control features in addition to powering applications such as Skype calling.
“The XT880 series of televisions is truly at the cutting edge of television technology,” said Peter Erdman, Vice President of Consumer Electronics, Hisense USA. “Hisense has shown that it is not only capable, but ready to jump into the UHD market with televisions that offer every feature a consumer could ask for today, but at a price that won’t cause sticker shock.”
Availability and pricing of the XT880 series are not yet determined. Hisense will issue further details as the products come closer to market.
