LifeSize™ Ships Industry’s First High Definition Video Communications System – Over 130 Systems Already Ordered

AUSTIN, Texas – LifeSize Room™ Marks Significant Industry Milestone with Breakthrough Technology Delivering True-to-Life Experience that will Make Video Communications Pervasive

LifeSize, the high definition video communications company, today announced that its flagship product, LifeSize Room, is now generally available. After more than two years of development, LifeSize is shipping the first high definition video communications system designed to provide nearly 10 times the quality of existing solutions. With much anticipation and mounting demand, over 130 LifeSize Room systems have already been ordered by customers around the world.

“What LifeSize has achieved by delivering the industry’s first high definition video product truly represents a significant advancement for the videoconferencing market,” said Andrew W. Davis, Managing Partner, Wainhouse Research LLC. “Such an effort requires vision, talent and resources, all of which LifeSize has demonstrated it is highly capable of combining to produce this quantum leap in capabilities for users of video communications.”

With better quality video at any bandwidth, users of LifeSize Room will experience high definition resolution at 1Mbps, DVD quality at 512kbps and Cable TV quality at 384kbps. LifeSize Room redefines the video communications experience by allowing executives, managers, project teams, educators, and anyone with dispersed colleagues and operations to now collaborate more clearly and effectively. And unlike specialized, costly telepresence suites, LifeSize Room can turn any space into a high definition video communications environment at a comparable price range to that of traditional, low-resolution videoconferencing systems.

“To say that we are very excited about bringing our flagship high definition video product to market would be an understatement,” said Craig Malloy, CEO of LifeSize. “We have spent countless hours and other resources to achieve this goal, and now, with the support of our partners in over twenty countries, we look forward to start changing the future of video communications.”

LifeSize Room’s breakthrough high definition technology provides crystal clear video clarity and high fidelity audio for a productive, true-to-life experience:
