Greenpacket Tower and Shuttle WiMAX Modems

Two new state-of-the-art WiMAX modems that support 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz frequencies

Green Packet Berhad (Greenpacket), a leading developer of next generation mobile broadband and carrier solutions proved it is a leader in innovation with the launch of its next generation Wave 2 compliant WiMAX modems at the WiMAX Forum Congress Americas.

Greenpacket’s line-up includes the DX WiMAX Indoor VoIP modem or ‘Tower’ as it symbolizes power, communication and strength.

“Tower is an IAD that combines the convenience of WiMAX and WiFi, hence WiMAX can be shared with multiple users,” said Kelvin Lee, Senior General Manager of Greenpacket.

The Tower features high-gain omni directional antennas to offer best-in-class performance and built-in VoIP support to give WiMAX Operators the opportunity to upsell voice services.

The Tower is ideal for both home and SOHO users and is a plug ‘n play device.

Greenpacket also launched the WiMAX USB High Gain Modem (UH), known as the ‘Shuttle’ as it represents exploration, discovery and cutting edge technology at its best.

Shuttle is the world’s first high gain USB modem supporting both fixed and nomadic WiMAX; one of the first breakthrough modems that supports wideband.

Incorporating one of the most advanced antenna designs, Shuttle sets new standards for performance and ease of use. Its 5dBi omni antenna radiates and receives signals from any direction and automatically selects the best antenna to improve signal strength for better uplink performance. With 25dBm transmission power, Shuttle delivers exceptional quality both indoors and outdoors.

For optimum indoor performance, Shuttle is fitted with a suction cup to fix the modem to a window or wall. An accompanying 5meter USB cable gives users the flexibility of sitting away from the window yet enjoying a strong WiMAX signal.

“Greenpacket is at the forefront of technology. By adding this new range of modems to our award-winning portfolio, we are confident of maintaining our leadership position in the 802.16e WiMAX market,” said Lee. “Aside from innovation, we make it a point to listen to Operators’ requirements to help them increase ARPU and improve end-user experience. Both modems are designed with strong aesthetics to inspire subscriber adoption.”

Greenpacket’s modems are field tested on one of the world’s largest live networks in partnership with Packet One (P1) Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and have successfully passed interoperability tests with leading WiMAX players such as Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Huawei, GCT, Mediatek, Beceem and Sequans.

Greenpacket plans to market Tower and Shuttle in Asia, MEA and Europe.
