GE Digital Cameras Debut on HSN

Worldwide Debut of Stylish GE-Branded Digital Cameras Set for HSN on May 1

General Imaging, the worldwide exclusive licensee for GE-branded digital cameras, today announced that HSN will offer GE cameras in its lineup of products, featuring several models over the next several months. GE cameras will appear on HSN beginning at 12 a.m. tomorrow and continuing throughout the day.

The May 1 debut on HSN (http://www.hsn.com/) marks the first time GE digital cameras will be available to the public. GE cameras are expected to be on store shelves later in May.

“HSN, with its cable TV and Internet outlets, makes an excellent partner for launching the GE line of cameras,” said Hiroshi “Hugh” Komiya, Chairman & CEO of General Imaging. “HSN reaches 89 million U.S. households through TV and is the fourth-largest cable network in the U.S. We believe HSN provides an extremely effective launch prior to products being available at major retailers.”

On May 1 HSN will introduce the G1, GE’s sleek, signature digital point-and-shoot camera as “Today’s Special.” The G1 comes with 7-megapixel resolution, 3X zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.

All eight GE cameras boast sleek and intuitive design, plus a host of popular, advanced functions as standard features, including face detection, image stabilization, red-eye removal, and panoramic stitching. “The GE digital camera line is a very special product that we believe will generate considerable interest with our viewers,” said Sandy Conrad, senior vice president with HSN. “Our shoppers will immediately recognize the venerable GE brand for its long-standing reputation for quality and value. These cameras live up to that brand promise.”

“The significance of our partnership with HSN is underscored by the fact that May is National Photo month,” said Rene Buhay, vice president of sales North America for General Imaging. “This is a terrific opportunity and we look forward to our debut with consumers on HSN. Shoppers will not be disappointed.”

An independent new company based in Torrance, Calif., General Imaging unveiled eight cameras on March 8 during PMA 07, the leading industry photographic trade show in Las Vegas. More information about GE cameras is available at http://www.ge.com/digitalcameras.
