At CEDIA 2009 Furman/Panamax Will Introduce BlueBOLT
BlueBOLT, is a new technology providing secure, hosted IP (Internet Protocol) system control over compatible Panamax and Furman products. BlueBOLT leapfrogs other hosted IP solutions by offering unprecedented ease of use through a uniquely rich, modern graphical user interface (www.myBlueBOLT.com) that allows installers to monitor multiple installations across multiple locations. There are no static IP addresses to obtain, port numbers to remember, or new ISP accounts to configure. Unlike traditional IP systems that require a dedicated IT professional or programmer to set up, BlueBOLT offers true plug-and-play operation. Users simply connect any Panamax or Furman product equipped with a BlueBOLT IP communications card to the Internet, and the unit will find its home server and be ready to use with minimal configuration.
BlueBOLT allows individual outlets or outlet banks to be power-cycled from any Web browser or Web-enabled mobile device — drastically reducing service calls. For Internet routers, outlets can be assigned to power cycle automatically if an Internet connection is lost. As BlueBOLT-compatible products provide a wide range of remotely controlled features, BlueBOLT’s modular nature allows multiple products and feature sets to be controlled using a single access point and interface. With BlueBOLT, voltage and current consumption can be monitored in real time or tracked over a time period. E-mail notifications are sent when power anomalies are detected, allowing installers and end users to take immediate action in the event of a catastrophic surge, brownout, blackout, or other power event. BlueBOLT also provides a simple and convenient way to manage energy consumption by cutting off all current to select components, thereby eliminating wasteful stand-by power in an A/V system.
BlueBOLT technology will be available via an add-on card compatible with select Panamax and Furman products. The card will be available Q4 2009.

New Furman Products on Display at CEDIA 2009:
F1000-UPS and F1500-UPS Programmable Uninterruptible Power Supplies
The F1000-UPS and F1500-UPS are the first battery backup solutions to feature Furman’s SMP/LiFT/EVS technologies for professional-level protection and linear AC noise filtration. The F1000-UPS provides 1000VA of backup with simulated sine wave output, AVR voltage regulation, robust programmability options, IR control for safe shutdown of remote equipment, critical load management, and circuitry for optimized power consumption.
The F1500-UPS adds increased battery capacity (1500VA) that is expandable via an optional external battery pack (BATT1500-EXT) for true sine wave output, and BlueBOLT compatibility for remote IP control, available as an optional IP card. With BlueBOLT, the F1500-UPS will send notification to an installer or end-user in the event of a blackout and provide power management control to the system (provided the unit still has an active Internet connection at the install location).
The F1000-UPS and F1500-UPS are available now at MSRPs of $729.95 and $1,299.95 respectively.
