Formovie has introduced an affordable 4K UST Projector called the Cinema Edge for $2,199. It is a replacement of Formovie’s C3 from last year, but now includes a Google TV operating system. That means it supports Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, HBO, Peacock, etc) as well as the ability to use Google Cast (aka Chromecast built-in). Since the prior model ran Formovie’s proprietary operating system which didn’t support Netflix, the switch to Google TV OS means owners no longer need a separate set-top box or streaming stick to use Netflix.
Cinema Edge Features
In addition to Google TV and Netflix certification, the Formovie Cinema Edge employs DLP projection technology with support from a long-lasting Laser light source.
Images up to 150 inches can be projected from less than two feet away due to the Cinema Edge’s ultra-short throw (UST) design.
The color range is wide and accurate with a 110% Rec. 709 color gamut and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio.
With 1900 lumens output (ISO rating) and multiple brightness modes (Office, Viewing, Night) users can optimize the projector’s brightness levels based on different environments.
The 60Hz refresh rate, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of storage provide support for stable streaming and fast, reliable performance.
The Formovie Cinema Edge provides three HDMI 2.1 (eARC) ports, and two USB 2.0 ports for convenient connectivity to external devices.
With (MEMC) Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation the Formovie Cinema Edge reduces blurring on moving objects, providing a smoother and more lifelike visual experience.
In addition to video, Formovie has also given thought to the audio portion of the equation. Dolby Audio and DTS:X are supported. Users benefit from reduced noise levels, with the projector operating at a maximum of 32dB Fan Noise so as not to be distracting of the viewing experience.
The projector is also designed to protect the eyes, providing a comfortable and enjoyable viewing experience. Users can also personalize their space by seamlessly blending the projector into their home setup with custom images or photos as the screensaver. These and more features can be explored with ease through the intuitive “All Settings” menu.
Tip: The step-up Formovie Theater UST 4K Projector won ProjectorScreen’s UST Showdown two years in a row.

Initial Impressions
We’ve been told the Formovie Cinema Edge is the North American version of the Formovie C3 which we saw at the 2023 UST Projector Showdown. Although it didn’t take any of the top spots, we felt it was a solid performer as an entry-level, relatively low-priced unit. With the addition of Google TV OS and Netflix certification, the Cinema Edge becomes a much more attractive option.
