foneGEAR Hands Free Cellular Audio Headset and Cellular Audio Ear Bud offer universal compatibility, will be available second quarter
March 28, 2005 — Troy, MI– foneGEAR LLC (Troy, MI) — a leader in mobile communications accessories – today announced the product launch and forthcoming availability of their pioneering new hands free cellular audio headsets. By committing to the sale and manufacturing of cellular audio headsets, foneGEAR has launched itself to the forefront of the emerging and fast-growing market for cellular audio products.
Two varieties of foneGEAR Cellular Audio Headsets will be initially available, both for phones with universal 2.5 millimeter headset jacks and for Nokia phones that use a phone-specific plug. The foneGEAR hands free Cellular Audio Headset is available in an over-the-ear version with foam-padded comfort speakers, and there will also be an Ear Bud Style Cellular Audio Headset featuring audio-grade rubber comfort ear buds.
The foneGEAR Cellular Audio Headset plugs directly into the phone headset jack and features high-quality audio from its from-padded comfort speakers, and has an in-line microphone with an integrated music-control switch for simultaneously pausing audio and answering calls. When the call is competed, the speaker may press the button a second time to resume listening to the radio or MP3s.
The foneGEAR Ear Bud Style Cellular Audio Headset also plugs directly into the phone headset jack, and features high-quality audio from its audio-grade rubber comfort ear buds. It also has an in-line microphone with a music control switch and functions identically to the Headset when taking calls.
These headsets are suitable for a wide range of current and future models of MP3 and FM-radio compatible cellular phones, and universal versions of both styles come with an adapter that converts the standard 2.5mm plug to a 3.5mm plug for use with notebook and personal computers, as well as other audio devices that use 3.5mm audio jacks. The new foneGEAR Cellular Audio Headsets are compatible with more than 15 FM-radio equipped cellular phones, and more than 9 MP3-player equipped mobile phones, as well as with many more models slated that will be released in 2005 from a variety of handset manufacturers.
