FoneGEAR Check Your Connector Package Issued Patent

Open package spares consumers, retailers from frustration and returns

December 27, 2005 — Las Vegas, NV– foneGEAR LLC (Troy, MI) — a leader in mobile communications accessories – today announced the that it has been granted patent protection for its unique “Check Your Connector” electronics packaging. Products utilizing this packaging innovation have been available at retail for some time, and will be on display at the foneGEAR exhibit at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada (Booth 35632).

The packaging covered by the patent, used on foneGEAR’s cellular phone chargers, headsets, and cordless phone batteries, provides an opening in the package that consumers may use to ensure that they are making the correct product purchase. Because the accessory does not need to be removed from the package to determine whether it fits the phone, it minimizes frustration for consumers who buy foneGEAR accessories and substantially reduces returns for retailers carrying the package.

“foneGEAR is extremely pleased to offer this useful, elegant packaging solution to our customers,” said Ken Eisenbraun, president of foneGEAR and inventor of the “Check Your Connector” feature. “By using the “Check Your Connector” feature on our packages, consumers are spared the burden of repackaging the product before returning to the store for exchange, and merchants do not have to contend with selling the repackaged product at a reduced price or not at all.”

“Check Your Connector” Packaging is available on a number of foneGEAR products, and will be on display along with the entire line of foneGEAR accessories in South Hall Booth 35632 at the 2006 CES Show.
