Eye-Fi’s New Product Line-Up Will Help People Easily Manage and Share Digital Memories

Today Eye-Fi Inc., makers of the world’s first wireless SD memory card, announced an extended product line-up designed to make photo sharing easier and meet the needs of individual users.

“We understand that each photographer has his or her own way of sharing memories,” said Jef Holove, chief executive officer of Eye-Fi. “Some users are thrilled to easily upload photos from camera to computer, while others want a much richer photo sharing experience, even when away from home. By offering three different Eye-Fi Cards and new features, our goal is to give consumers exactly what delights them.”

Eye-Fi announced three new wireless SD memory cards, including the Eye-Fi Explore, which will automatically add geographic location tags to each photo and will allow users to upload their memories from Wi-Fi hotspots. The original Eye-Fi Card, now called Eye-Fi Share, is designed for the photographer who wants to effortlessly upload images directly to their preferred photo sharing site in addition to their computer. And, the Eye-Fi Home is aimed at users who want to simply and wirelessly upload digital memories to their home computer.

Product Line-Up

  • Eye-Fi Explore: At an MSRP of $129, Eye-Fi Explore will automatically locate nearby Wi-Fi networks and add location tags to pictures using Skyhook’s global Wi-Fi Positioning System. The new card will also allow users to upload their photos while away from home at more than 10,000 Wayport hotspots in the U.S. Includes 2GB storage; PC and Mac compatible. • Eye-Fi Share: The features and simplicity of Eye-Fi’s original wireless SD memory card continue, priced at an MSRP of $99. Eye-Fi Share includes unlimited, secure Web-sharing service that allows users to automatically upload photos directly to their preferred photo sharing, social networking or blogging site, using their home wireless vnetwork. Includes 2GB storage; PC and Mac compatible.
  • Eye-Fi Home: Eye-Fi’s new wireless card, priced at an MSRP of $79, enables users to upload photos to their computer through their home Wi-Fi network. This card is designed for those who want to save the time and hassle of manually uploading photos via cables, cradles or card readers. Includes 2GB storage; PC and Mac compatible.

Eye-Fi will demo the new geotagging features of the Eye-Fi Explore at the O’Reilly Where 2.0 Conference in Burlingame, CA on May 13-14, at the Skyhook Wireless booth #4. Eye-Fi’s new card line-up will be available for sale by June 6, 2008, at major online retailers. For more information, please visit http://www.eye.fi.
