Emopulse is offering a glimpse of the future with a curved display smartphone that wraps around your wrist like a bracelet. Their new product is called Smile. With a slew of built-in sensors the device can understand voice commands, read your mood, monitor your diet and health, and can even control how awake you are as well as your sleep stages and your dream time. And if you’re in trouble, the Smile will call for help.
Of course, Smile can be used as an independent cell phone to make and receive calls. To answer a call, press a button, or just say “Yes” or use any other affirmative word. You do not have to memorize command words, since the Smile understands your natural language.
With built-in wireless NFC payment system Smile users can wave their hand above the sensor of a wireless payment system at the check-out to pay. Of course, you will have to have linked your bank account or credit card account number beforehand.
As a nice add-on feature, the Smile’s memory can store all of your personal key information including permanent keys for your house, garage, office and car and temporary ones for your hotel or season tickets. The Smile’s memory will also hold a large amount of discount card information. Eventually it should be able to receive, copy, and store e-ticket information as well.

Their website speaks of a prototype and mass production in December 2013. How is this possible? There have been no hands on videos released by the developer, and according to the fund it ends in 30 days, the contributions are only at about $6,000. (Goal being $300,000.) Does it start over every month? If the technology was here for something like this already, you would be able to find something about it somewhere. But you can’t. The only information you find on it, it what they want it to be able to do. All the amazing things that the developer wishes for his product to do when it is finished. I will need more then a video with paid actors, using a prop on their wrist, with digital renderings on it. Concept is one thing, but to take peoples money and talk about releasing something within the year, that based on lack of information, clearly isn’t going to happen, is something completely different. Release a video of one of your developers using your prototype. And if there is a prototype, where were you at CES this year? Even if it was years away from production, it still would have done wonders for your funding to at least show something, anything at all! I love tech, but this thing is ugly as sin, huge and gaudy. There is no way I would be able to incorporate this in to everyday life, let alone even put on a jacket or shirt without having to take it o first. I need evidence people!
