Summer is almost upon us and entertainment starts moving outdoors. However, not only can you take your music with you, but there is a growing trend of consumers adding TV viewing to their outdoor entertainment options.
There are several TV brands that offer outdoor TVs, including Sunbrite, MirageVision, SkyVue, Samsung Terrace, and more. However, Element has just announced its entry into the Outdoor TV market with not only its first outdoor TV model (EP400AB55R) but is also the first outdoor TV from any brand with Roku built-in.
Weatherproof Features
The Element/Roku Outdoor TV incorporates an anti-glare screen and heavy-duty frame construction design to protect against commonly occurring water splashes, dust, dirt, humidity, and light snow. The rear connection panel comes with a cover for added production. Element states that TV can operate in temperatures from -4°F to 104°F.
- Note: The EP400AB55R has a weatherproof rating of IP55. Also, this is “partial sun” TV – it is not meant to be viewed in direct sunlight. Consider placing it inside a covered patio.
Roku Features
On the Roku side, this TV has OS11 built-in (is also upgradable to future versions) and includes all the capabilities of a Roku 4K UHD streaming device. This includes access to over 5,000 streaming apps (location dependent) including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, extensive content search, the Live TV Zone, and compatibility with the Roku Mobile App.
- Tip: Roku recommends an internet speed of 25 Mbps for stable 4K streaming.
As well as all Roku benefits the Roku onscreen menu also provides the gateway for users to navigate all the TV’s settings, including input selection, picture and sound settings, and other TV-specific options.

What a terrible idea. TV already does too much damage indoors.

Tony,
They sell so many of these, they can barely keep them in stock.
