DSL Forum Hosts A 2005 DSL Industry Update Press Event in an Interactive DSLHome Booth 70619

Thursday, January 6th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. PT–Booth 70619, “Silver Exhibit”

Who: DSL industry executives from the DSL Forum, the non-profit industry consortium comprised of more than 200 global telecommunications and broadband industry leaders, dedicated to developing the technical specifications and marketing materials that enable the promotion, deliver and support of profitable broadband DSL products and services, invite media and industry analysts to hear the latest DSL developments.

What: Press conference, personal DSLHome exhibit tour, announcement of the latest DSL deployment news, and a reception in Booth 70619 in the “Silver Exhibit” of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This industry overview will look at how the DSL Forum will drive a new body of work that will define technical guidelines and market education in the following areas:

• IP Video over DSL – Focusing on technical advancements that will get Video out of the trials and into the mainstream DSL marketplace.

• Voice over IP over DSL – Discussing the unique qualities of VoIP, and how work from the DSL Forum and its liaison partner organizations, will improve its impact on home and business calling in the future.

• DSLHome – Addressing the exciting applications of the networked home, and how DSL has evolved to provide superior quality of service (QoS) for the active user or family.

• DSL Hybrid Networks – Looking at the complementary suite of broadband options, including WiFi and Fiber, and focusing on educating users to the hybrid network solutions that are sweeping the world such as Commercial Hot Spots, and Public Broadband Access Nodes.

A question and answer session will follow the press conference, to demystify what DSL means to home efficiency, entertainment, business communications and connectivity.
