Dnp Supernova Core Screen Introduced

Award-Winning Supernova Screen Now Available in an Easy to Assemble & Hard to Resist Format

COSTA MESA, CA — August 22, 2007 — dnp denmark, the world’s leading supplier of optical projection screen technology and developer of the first-ever screen that allows viewing in brightly lit environments, announced the addition of the new Supernova Core to its award-winning line-up. Unveiling at CEDIA EXPO 2007, September 5-9th in Denver, Colorado, the Supernova Core is an easy to assemble frame-mounted front projection screen designed for trouble-free shipment and effortless installation.

The Supernova Core’s appeal lies in its simplicity — it ships in a compact package and installs with great ease. The screen surface comes rolled up and it attaches to a black velvet frame for an attractive and straightforward wall-mount installation. Available in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios and sizes ranging from 72″ to 120″, the Supernova Core features all the great benefits of Supernova Screen technology, making it the ideal choice for enthusiasts who want a widescreen projection experience without a large investment.

“By expanding the Supernova Screen line, dnp can now provide more choices to consumers,” stated Manfred Freiberger, Senior Account Manager for dnp USA. “The Supernova Core has been designed to be the center piece of any environment where consumers wish to enjoy a widescreen projection experience. Combining our patented technology and an easy to assemble frame construction, this fixed screen is the perfect addition to any home theater.”

The Supernova Core Screen delivers up to ten times higher contrast and two times brighter images than standard front screens. The technology used to develop Supernova is based on a revolutionary high-contrast filter that allows the projected image to be reflected from the screen, effectively absorbing incident light from other angles such as windows and room lighting. As a result, the screen is virtually unaffected by ambient light.

The Supernova Core Screen combines neutral color reproduction and uniform image quality with extremely high contrast ratios and superior black levels. It is so versatile because it can be used in high ambient light environments but it is also a perfect fit in a high end home theater.

The Supernova Core Screen is intended to hang on the wall and is compatible with all standard projectors. dnp’s Supernova Screens provide an unparalleled widescreen viewing experience that far surpasses that delivered by flat panel displays.

During CEDIA EXPO 2007, the Supernova Core will be demonstrated at dnp booth #430. dnp will also showcase the revolutionary Supernova Epic, a new curved screen that combines superior Supernova optical screen technology with a masking system to bring a sweeping cinematic experience into the home; and the Supernova Flex, a retractable, motorized screen that blends effortlessly into any environment and disappears into a stylish wall mounted enclosure when not in use.
