Denon AVR-X6200W A/V Receiver

Denon AVR-X6200W A/V Receiver - Front

Denon just released the high-end AVR-X6200W 9.2-channel home theater receiver for 2015-2016, which is one-step below their top-of-the-line AVR-X7200WA. The new X6200W is equipped with ground-breaking technologies, which include Dolby Atmos 3D audio to deliver captivating, multi-dimensional sound, and it is ready for the brand new DTS:X immersive surround sound format. Also it can be upgraded to Auro-3D for the most complete suite of 3D audio options available in any AVR. Plus it supports HDMI 2.0a with full 4K Ultra HD and has HDCP 2.2 capability. As is the case with virtually all new Denon models, this capability is extended to all its HDMI inputs and outputs for ultimate future-proofness.

In terms of the audio section, the AVR-X6200W has a powerful 9-channel amplifier with 140 watts per channel delivered by a monolithic amplifier design with custom made DHCT (Denon High Current Transistors) output devices. This level of output has the capability to fill even the largest home theater with astonishing clarity, power, detail, and depth. For the ultimate in audio refinement, the AVR-X6200W features Denon’s own D.D.S.C.-HD (Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit High Definition) circuit with renowned AL24 Processing Plus, and supported by the use of high quality D/A Converters. The Denon Link HD Connection provides for a jitter-free transmission from a supporting Denon Blu-ray Player.

Denon AVR-X6200W A/V Receiver

Taking the home theater experience to a whole new level, the AVR-X6200W is equipped with a Dolby Atmos decoder and Dolby Surround upmixer to deliver captivating multi-dimensional sound through height speakers or Dolby Atmos elevation speakers. Thanks to its 11.2-channel processing capability, the AVR-X6200W offers huge flexibility. For example, by adding an additional 2-channel power amplifier, it can support up to 7.1.4 or 9.1.2 Dolby Atmos configurations. Through a free-of-charge future firmware update, a brand new DTS:X decoder and DTS Neural:X upmixer will be added. In addition, the highly acclaimed Auro-3D sound processing engine can be added for an additional 3D sound solution (a fee is charged). The nine amplifier channels can be used to either experience one of the new 3D sound formats, or to bring the same or different audio signal to a second or third zone in the home. Thanks to a 13.2-channel pre-out section, an RS232 port and flexible amp assignment options, the AVR-X6200W provides custom integrators a wide range of solutions for both multi-zone listening and control options.

Discerning users will also appreciate the most advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT32 (Pro ready) room equalization program. This includes Audyssey Dynamic Volume, Dynamic EQ, Sub EQ HT and LFC (Low Frequency Containment), to perfectly tailor the sound to the owner’s room characteristics and personal taste.

Denon AVR-X6200W A/V Receiver - Back

With a total of eight HDMI 2.0a inputs (including one on the front panel) and three outputs, the receiver’s video section is ready to take full advantage of all current and future source devices such as Blu-ray players, media players, gaming consoles, and video cameras. This includes full compatibility with the latest HDCP 2.2 specification required for 4K Ultra HD copy-protected content. The AVR-X6200W further supports full rate 4K Ultra HD video along with 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, HDR and Rec.2020 pass-through. Additionally, the powerful video processor can upconvert standard definition and high definition analog and digital video sources to a full rate 4K Ultra HD resolution, for the ultimate viewing experience.

With its three HDMI outputs, users can enjoy surround sound in the main room with switching between two displays and a separate video source with two-channel audio in another room. The AVR-X6200W is also certified by the Imaging Science Foundation for video quality, and is equipped with ISFccc video calibration controls, providing the option for ISF-approved settings for daytime and nighttime viewing or high quality custom picture settings for five separate video parameters on a source-by-source basis.

In addition to its exceptional audio and video capabilities, the AVR-X6200W comes with built-in Bluetooth for music streaming from a smartphone, and Wi-Fi to easily connect to a home network. Once connected, the AVR opens up the home to unlimited music source and playback options including Apple AirPlay, network attached storage devices (NAS), Internet Radio and Spotify Connect (where available; subscription required). High Resolution audio files like FLAC, AIFF or DSD are also supported and played back with impeccable sonic quality.

While offering such an amazing and powerful set of next-generation features, all new X-Series models come with a unique Denon ECO mode. It provides the ability to reduce overall power consumption and features an on-screen ECO Meter that lets users see the power consumption reduction effect, if desired. The Auto ECO mode automatically switches between normal and ECO modes, depending on the volume level chosen. With the exclusive Denon Setup Assistant along with the Quick Start Guide, setting up a Denon A/V Receiver is quick and easy. To conveniently keep control of all the features, there is the new Denon AVR Remote App for iOS and Android devices.

Price and Availability
The AVR-X6200W is expected to be available in October 2015 at authorized Denon retailers for $2,199.
