Datacolor Introduces CES Press to New Tools and Features That Deliver Color Excellence Across Media At UNVEILED
Color Calibration Innovations for Home Theater and Digital Imaging on Display At Sands Expo
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — December 15, 2005 — Datacolor, an internationally known name in color technology, introduces new products and product features for superior color clarity in virtually any digital medium at CES’ Unveiled. This year, the press preview and product display event is held in the Bellini Ballroom at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, January 4th, 2006, from 4-7 PM
Unveiled provides the perfect opportunity for press to get a first-hand look at Datacolor’s new professional-level tools for optimized TV viewing — SpyderTV PRO — as well as multilingual versions of the company’s breakthrough product, the consumer-oriented Spyder TV. Through the ColorVision digital imaging product line, Datacolor also offers press previews of the latest color calibration tools for digital projectors with ColorVision Spyder2 PRO Studio 2.0 and screen to printer color accuracy with ColorVision Spyder2 Plus — The Digital Darkroom in a Box. These and other products are on display during the run of the show at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Booth 25754, South Hall No. 2 (Ground Level).
Enriching The TV Experience With Optimized Color
SpyderTV PRO, which debuts at CES 2006, was developed with professionals in mind. As with all products in the Datacolor line of color calibration tools for home theater, SpyderTV PRO scientifically measures and adjusts the display presets of any CRT, plasma, RPTV, LCD or DLP display screen — and does it easily and quickly.
While it retains SpyderTV’s trademark ease of use, this new version delivers a deeper level of functionality that professionals need even when performing a quick in-home checkup. The new product supports gray scale measurement and adjustments, calibration of front projectors, and increased reporting capabilities. SpyderTV PRO also includes an online support forum moderated by industry experts, a subscription based service that is FREE for the first year.
Datacolor also showcases its core product for home theater calibration at this year’s UNVEILED. The consumer-based SpyderTV has expanded to include seven languages. This finalist in the Fall Electronic House Expo, 2005 Multi-Room Audio/Video (MRAV) Awards is now available in German, Italian, French and Spanish. SpyderTV will soon be released in Japanese with Chinese, as well as Korean, languages to follow shortly.
Tools that optimize TV viewing can only be good news for a growing market. In a February 2005 report, Forrester Research noted that US consumers’ lust for the new big, flat TV sets is unabated. A significant percentage of those polled, 39%, said their next TV will be a flat-panel plasma or LCD TV set. Setting the pace for HDTV penetration to grow past 50 million American homes in the next five years .
Infusing Digital Projector Displays With Dynamic Color
Top market research firms for projection and display technologies are forecasting that the $12 billion worldwide projections market will grow significantly with the arrival of new high performing, brighter, more colorful, smaller and lighter projection systems. These analysts predict that presentation front projection sales alone will rise from the 3.1 million units sold in 2004 to as many as 12.9 million units in 2009
ColorVision Spyder2PRO Studio’s new V2.0 software answers the needs of digital imagers who still need a way to display work in this burgeoning digital medium. The new Spyder2PRO Studio 2.0 is based on the global award winning Spyder2 colorimeter. Targeted to the demanding designer, photographer and digital professional, the new V2.0 software calibrates digital projectors as well as for CRT, LCD and laptop monitors. Pros whose crucial color-correcting choices begin with the monitor will find everything they need for exceptional color outcome in this latest version of the popular Spyder2PRO, available for preview at UNVEILED.
Press attending UNVEILED also have the opportunity to explore the technology-rich benefits of ColorVision Spyder2 Plus — The Digital Darkroom in a Box. The integrated hardware/ software solution for MAC and Windows environments addresses screen and printer color accuracy.
It is bundled with Adobe Photoshop Elements software — an all-in-one solution for digital photography. The popular Adobe program keeps track of photos from multiple devices–cameras, hard disks, CD’s, DVD’s, and scanners. It features utility tools even a beginner can use as well as functions for the advanced user.
