D-Link has started shipping a compact and affordable network webcam that allows users to remotely view live streaming video through the company's www.mydlink.com portal with multi-browser support and while on-the-go with an iPhone app.

The new D-Link® Wireless N Network Camera (DCS-930L) is 'mydlink-enabled' allowing it to be easily and securely viewed and managed via the mydlink portal, providing customers with an easier way to experience a connected, digital lifestyle. Other 'mydlink-enabled' cameras include the DCS-1100 ($179.99) and the DCS-1130 ($219.99) which were announced last year.

Unlike a traditional USB-connected webcam, the DCS-930L is a complete system with a built-in CPU and web server that transmits high quality video images for security and surveillance directly to the network without the need for a PC. Simple installation and an intuitive web-based interface offer easy integration with your wired or 802.11n Wi-Fi network. The DCS-930L also comes with D-ViewCam camera management software which includes recording and motion detection features for a complete and cost-effective home monitoring solution.

With the addition of an iPhone app, users can view a live feed from any of the “mydlink” family of cameras using the mydlink portal from their phones. For added convenience, users can view a live feed from the cameras using any 3G-enabled cell phone, PDA or any compatible 3GPP RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) mobile streaming capable device.

Compact Size, Easy Installation
The mydlink-enabled Wireless N Network Camera (DCS-930L) comes with everything you need to quickly add a surveillance camera to your home or small office network. Simply connect the cables, plug in the camera, run the short installation wizard and setup is complete. To view what the camera is seeing, simply log on to mydlink.com, choose your device, and start viewing — there is no need to configure your router to open up ports or remember hard-to- memorize Internet addresses.
