CTL announced the ruggedized, 7-inch 2go studybook L7 Tablet for education, offering a 1024×600 capacitive touch screen and approximately 6 hours of battery life. It is powered by an Intel Atom z650 processor and available with either Microsoft Windows 7 or an Android operating system.
Designed to withstand a drop from desk height and to be water resistant, the 2go studybook L7 tablet is designed for a variety of harsh real-world environments. With a USB port, a microSD card slot, audio out, and options such as 3G, mini-HDMI and Bluetooth, the 2go studybook L7 Tablet is an ultra-portable, ultra affordable tablet that is perfect for students, mobile workers and people on the go. For education customers, the 2go studybook L7 comes with educational software pre-installed, including classroom management, LabCam applications that support scientific inquiry, and an optimized e-reader. Additionally the L7 is fully manageable with the Teacher PC spec (a reference design and software stack for machines that teachers can use to develop content and administer the devices). There's also collaboration software providing a student-friendly interface so that both teachers and students can collaborate within the classroom electronically.
CTL also expects the 2go studybook L7 to be popular in a variety of markets beyond education and will offer without the education specific software.
