Cricket Communications today announced the Cricket CROSSWAVE portable WiFi device from Huawei. The sleek, dual mode EVDO/WiFi CROSSWAVE can connect with up to three devices at the same time and is compatible with most devices that support WiFi 802.11b/g including Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7, as well as Mac OS X10.4.11 to 10.6.3 (both 32 and 64 bit). The Cricket CROSSWAVE will be paired with Cricket's unlimited, all-inclusive prepaid broadband service plans, offering pricing flexibility for consumers whose interests may range from less data- intensive email and web browsing to data heavy applications such as streaming video, music downloads and online gaming. All users will be able to access Cricket's reliable 3G network which provides download speeds up to 1.4 Mbps.

At just under 4-inches in height, less than a half-inch thick and weighing less than three ounces, the compact and innovative instant mobile hotspot device brings high speed internet access on Cricket's all 3G network to multiple laptops, desktops and other mobile devices like tablets, mp3 players, and gaming systems simultaneously. The CROSSWAVE supports connectivity while plugged into a standard power outlet or USB port and has a battery life of nearly 3 hours active use and 90 hours of standby time.

“The CROSSWAVE is an incredibly convenient way for on-the-go consumers to bring Cricket's reliable, no-contract 3G connectivity to a whole new ecosystem of devices, anywhere, at any time.” This convenient mobile hotspot also complements our new, true rate data plans, providing our customers with the speed and reliability they want with no overage charges or hidden fees.”
