Cresyn introduced the Axis C555H on-ear headphones, along with the Axis C555S, which adds a microphone for making and receiving calls when used with a phone. Otherwise both versions are identical, and feature a cleverly designed tri-fold, flexible aluminium headband mechanism. The rear section of each ear cup is also fashioned from aluminium, giving a smart appearance and lightweight yet robust build quality that benefits sonic performance and helps to prevent sound leakage. Soft ear cushions and size-adjustable sections on either side of the headband ensure a secure and comfortable fit, wherever the listener happens to be – at home, on a train, on foot or down the gym.

Aside from comfort, another advantage that Axis offers over in-ear designs is a large (40mm) driver, delivering deep, punchy bass and a wide frequency range. The company claims the result is a sound that is detailed and engaging, getting to the heart of the music in a manner that few price-comparable headphones can muster, let alone any that are as eminently portable as the Axis. Both offer a choice of silver or black ear cups and come supplied with a protective carrying pouch.
