CONNECTIONS: The Digital Home Conference and Showcase, produced by Parks Associates in partnership with CEA, will examine issues fundamental to the digital home, including digital entertainment, home networking, mobile services, home management, and broadband-related services.
CONNECTIONS 2005 will be held May 11-13, 2005, at the Hyatt Regency near the San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, Calif. The event agenda, to be released in early February 2005, will feature five tracks:
Track A: Digital Entertainment and Multimedia Applications
Track B: Home Networking and Residential Gateways
Track C: Consumer Mobility and Device/Content Portability
Track D: Applications, Services, and Consumer Value
Track E: Home Management: Controls, Security, and Health
The event comes at a critical growth stage in the markets for digital living, according to Parks Associates. The market research firm stated that over one-third of U.S. Internet households recognize the value of a multimedia home network specifically as it relates to music. Also, the number of U.S. broadband households subscribing to games-on-demand services will grow to more than two million by the end of 2007, according to Parks Associates.
“Service providers have deployed nearly two million data network solutions, and consumers are showing a growing interest in multimedia home networks,” said Tricia Parks, president of Parks Associates. “The shift toward digital living is well underway, and the industry must keep pace with consumer demand and preferences. CONNECTIONS is the perfect venue to preview the next great products and services, share ideas about the future of the connected home, and discuss business plans both for now and the future.”
CONNECTIONS will showcase the latest technologies and feature top executives in the production, marketing, and distribution of applications, services, and devices for the connected home. Current sponsors for the event include:
