FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ParkerVision Begins Retail Marketing Of Longest Range Wireless Networking Products Under The SignalMAX Brand Name
— First WiFi products to guarantee entire home coverage and one mile open field performance —
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, September 2, 2004 — PARKERVISION, INC. (Nasdaq NMS: PRKR) announced today that it would begin marketing its line of high performance consumer wireless networking products under the SignalMAX brand name. The initial products consist of 4-port wireless routers, notebook cards, and USB adapters. SignalMAX products are targeted at consumers seeking maximum wireless distance connectivity for their cable and DSL modems in homes and small offices.
SignalMAX products are compatible with all 802.11b/g compliant products and are guaranteed to improve distance and eliminate “dead-zones” even when used with other manufacturers gear. When SignalMAX notebook or desktop cards are utilized with SignalMAX routers, one-mile open field distance performance is achieved. The company guarantees coverage of an entire home without the need or cost of repeaters, boosters, or special high-gain antennas.
SignalMAX products are also ideal for wireless ISPs, small businesses, and anyone looking for the true flexibility that is the promise of wireless connectivity. ParkerVision has successfully fielded thousands of units, many with users that were unable to provide adequate coverage or required multiple access points, antennas or additional equipment.
The foundation to ParkerVision’s product performance comes from its Direct2Data (D2D) wireless RF transceiver technology. D2D represents a unique approach to the circuit architecture of transceivers — creating the world’s first “RF Energy Sampling” technology. Eliminating the traditional analog circuits that have historically been used to create RF transceivers, D2D technology embodies digital signal processing of the RF carrier and results in a process which contravenes many of the traditional RF transceiver design engineering traditions and theories. D2D technology creates high performance RF transceivers that eliminate the traditional use of shielding and tuning and are implemented in small form factor IC’s.
“The practical benefit of our D2D technology is the ability to field products that deliver significantly better performance in range and reliability than products based on traditional analog RF transceivers. Our wireless networking products deliver this performance while using less power consumption and are competitively priced when compared to the myriad of add-on boosters, repeaters, and high gain antennas required for complete coverage of many homes and enterprise applications,” said Jeffrey Parker, CEO of ParkerVision.
Pricing and Availability
The SignalMAX WR1500 4-port Wireless DSL/Cable Router (MSRP: $199.95), WR1500 WLAN Card ($99.95) and USB1500 Wireless Adapter ($99.95) are available at Tiger Direct, www.parkervision.com, and soon to be available at CompUSA.
