PETALUMA, CA — February 24, 2006 — Panamax, the industry-leading manufacturer of power conditioning and protection products, today expressed its gratitude toward the Consumer Electronics Association’s TechHome Division for naming the MAX 5500-EX ACRegenerator (M5500-EX) as a 2006 Mark of Excellence Awards finalist in the Supplier’s Best Installation Product category. CEA’s Mark of Excellence Awards recognizes the top achievements in custom electronics products, services and installations setting the trends in the ever-changing home automation industry. Winners will be announced at an awards banquet on Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Rosen Centre Hotel, during the Electronic House Expo Spring 2006 to be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
“We are proud to be honored by CEA’s TechHome Division as a finalist in the 2006 Mark of Excellence Awards,” said John Maloney, vice president of sales and marketing at Panamax. “Panamax prides itself on ensuring that our technology produces maximum results for every new innovation in the entertainment industry. The M5500-EX is yet another example of our commitment to providing uncompromised, clean AC power for consumer electronic components to perform at their very best.”
The M5500-EX is designed to improve picture and sound quality for home theater components, such as high-definition flat panel televisions and surround sound systems, by eliminating common symptoms from contaminated electrical power including loss of detail, hisses, hums and visual artifacts thereby allowing A/V equipment to perform up to its full capability. Panamax’s patent pending AVM circuitry continuously monitors the incoming power and amperage draw of connected equipment as displayed on the digital meters. A red lightning bolt below the voltmeter will flash to indicate an under or over voltage condition. Power to the connected equipment is automatically turned off if either of these conditions is detected. When voltage returns to a safe level, power to the equipment is automatically reconnected.
In addition, the M5500-EX reduces cross-contamination between components providing noise isolation between 5 isolated outlet banks including 2 high current outlets so that any noise created by an A/V component cannot contaminate the power going to equipment plugged into the other outlet banks.
