Canon just announced the imageFORMULA P-208 Scan-tini, a personal document scanner, which handles a variety of documents, such as receipts, business cards, photographs, bills and contracts. These documents are converted into digital information that can easily be searched, stored, and shared.
In addition, when connected to the optional WU10 Wireless Adapter & Battery Pack, the P-208 scanner offers enhanced connectivity, enabling scanned files to be sent wirelessly to a variety of devices and operating systems. This recently introduced adapter allows the P-208 scanner to work wirelessly with Windows and Mac environments, and can also send files to smartphones and tablets when you download the free Canon CaptureOnTouch Mobile app.
Measuring about 2-inches wide, the slim P-208 scanner is easy to carry and can be discreetly stored in any home or office – no matter how tight the space. In addition, the new scanner connects to a computer and is fully powered by a single USB cable, helping to reduce clutter and the need for additional power cords or USB ports. The P-208 scanner is also super lightweight, so traveling with the device or moving it from room to room is easy and convenient.
With its easy “Plug-and-Scan” set-up, the P-208 scanner connects to a computer without the need to install drivers or applications. Multiple settings can be automatically set with the single click of a mouse, and the bundled Canon CaptureOnTouch software enables users to scan directly to cloud applications such as Evernote and Google Docs.
With a speed of up to 8 pages-per-minute, the P-208 scanner includes features that help improve legibility for maximum image quality, as well as features to help optimize and enhance images of scanned photographs. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is also built-in to help convert paper-based documents into digital information.
The Canon P-208 scanner can handle a variety of document types – including thick or thin documents, and even embossed cards. To help organize a home or office, or to maintain efficiency while on-the-go, this device is also capable of scanning both sides of a document at the same time. And when combined with the optional WU10 Wireless Adapter & Battery Pack, the scanner not only works wirelessly in Windows and Mac environments, but also with mobile devices such as iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and Android devices, using the free downloadable Canon CaptureOnTouch Mobile app.
