Ideal for Home Theaters as well as multi-zone and whole-house systems, they demonstrate Boston’s continuing commitment to high performance solutions for home entertainment.
As with all Boston audio products, they are designed to ensure that Boston speakers deliver The Boston Sound — pure, natural, and true to the original. The Boston Sound is renowned for its smooth octave-to-octave tonal balance, from the deepest bass to the highest treble. All Boston Acoustics systems present highs, mids and lows in perfect balance. It is the same consistent voice you hear no matter which Boston products you are listening to.
A7200 Amplifier & AVP7 Preamplifier
Powerful and solidly built, the A7200 7-Channel Amplifier features a dual-toroid, 7-channel mono-block design. Created for audiophiles, it’s ideal for watching movies in a Home Theater or other surround sound environment, and for listening to music from a two-channel audio system. In 7-channel mode, it delivers over 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and nearly 170 watts per channel into 4 ohms, both with less than 0.02 percent THD.
The AVP7 Audio/Video Preamplifier is an ideal companion to the A7200. Flexible, upgradeable and easy-to-use, its key features include HD compatibility, second-zone audio, an AM/FM tuner with 30 presets, and Boston’s UniView video format upconversion technology. Among the many audio formats it supports are Dolby Digital Surround EX, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24, DTS NEO: 6, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx.
Custom installers will especially appreciate the AVP7’s pre-programmed universal learning remote with LCD screen, automatic set-up with supplied omnidirectional calibrated microphone, USB audio input and converter for PC audio integration, bass management circuitry, selectable crossover frequency, switchable A/B surrounds, discrete IR codes for every function, and RS-232 input for software upgrading and interfacing with a remote control.
The A7200 7-Channel Amplifier and AVP7 Audio/Video Preamplifier are available now at a suggested price of $1,999 each.
AVR7120 & AVR7100 Surround Sound Receivers
Boston first-ever AV receivers, the AVR7120 and AVR7100, are 7.1-channel, two-zone powerhouses that provide the highest picture and sound quality in their class. Boasting impressive processing power, the AVR7120 and AVR7100 are ideal for component-based Home Theaters. Both feature Boston’s UniView video technology, incredible inter-connectivity, and a host of installer-friendly features.
The AVR7120 delivers 120 watts per channel, automatic system calibration and equalization assisted by an included Boston Acoustics-calibrated omnidirectional microphone; while the AVR7100 delivers 100 watts per channel. Both receivers deliver detailed, dynamic surround sound with well-managed bass regardless of format, providing exceptional sound solutions for the integration of Home Theater and control systems, whole-house audio, and digital convergence and connectivity with PCs. Among the many formats the receivers support are Dolby Digital Surround EX, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24, DTS NEO: 6, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx. Built-in AM/FM radios support 30 presets in each model.
Both receivers are available now at suggested prices of $2,999 for the AV7120 and $2,199 for the AV7100.
LCAi220 Local Control Amplifier
The LCAi220 Local Control Amplifier is an ideal high performance solution for plasma and other flat-panel TVs that can be used with virtually any Boston speaker — bookshelf, floorstanding, on-wall, in-wall or in-ceiling. Small, flat and compact, the LCAi220 can be installed within the wall behind a flat-panel display so it mounts flush with the wall and is effectively invisible — a feature both installers and their clients will appreciate.
The LCAi220 automatically switches between a central audio system and a local source when a local source is powered. It senses when a user turns on a TV or other device, and delivers audio from that source through the local speakers. The essence of simplicity, the LCAi220 connects to any local source with high- or low-level inputs and serves as a valuable addition to a whole-house audio system. Connect an iPOD or MP3 player and the LCAi220 becomes an integrated personal audio system. The LCAi220 is available now.
RVC90i and SVC90i Volume Controls
The RVC90i, which uses a rotary knob to adjust volume, and the SVC90i, which uses an up-and-down slider, are in-wall controls designed for local volume attenuation in multi-room systems. They offer a safe, simple, easy way to expand a receiver or amplifier, and are perfectly matched with Boston Acoustics speakers, and SP4 and SP6 Speaker Selectors (see below). Connected to a pair of speakers, they deliver independent volume control in each room in which either version is placed, providing clean, smooth volume attenuation without clicking or popping, or affecting sound quality.
Capable of handling 90 watts per channel RMS, and a peak input of 200 watts, the controls can be installed neatly and easily. Shipped in White, they can be adapted to the esthetic of any setting through interchangeable knobs and plate kits available in Almond, Ivory, Brown and Black. The Volume Controls are available now.
SP4 & SP6 Speaker Selectors
The SP4 4-Position and SP6 6-Position Speaker Selectors allow any amplifier or receiver to safely connect to additional speakers without risking amplifier damage. They’re ideal for connecting up to four or six pairs of 4- to 8-ohm speakers to a 4-ohm stereo receiver or amplifier, and can be used with Boston’s RVC90i and SVS90i Volume Controls (see above) for greater flexibility. Both selectors are small, compact and compatible with all amplifiers. They handle 200 watts/channel peak, and 100 watts/channel RMS continuous power. The Speaker Selectors are available now at affordable prices.
CB8 Volume Control Hub
The compact CB8 Volume Control Hub allows up to 8 pairs of remote speakers to simply and clearly connects to an amplifier in parallel, and must be used with impedance matching volume controls, such as the RVC90i and SVC90i. Its detachable connectors can be used with 12-gauge wire. The Control Hub is available now.
Boston Acoustics outstanding products can be seen in Booth 727, Indiana Convention Center, during CEDIA EXPO.
