SMK-Link Electronics Corporation, a subsidiary of SMK Electronics, the largest manufacturer of OEM remote controls in the world, today announced the availability of the new Blu-Link Universal Remote Control for PlayStation 3. Utilizing both Bluetooth and standard infrared wireless technologies, Blu-Link is the world’s first universal remote control to provide “single remote” control of the Sony PS3 PlayStation as well as all other home entertainment center devices.

  • Blu-Link is the world’s first universal remote with both infrared and Bluetooth wireless built-in to simultaneously control both PlayStation 3 and other home entertainment devices.
  • Blu-Link offers advanced PS3 button shape and colors with dedicated PS3 buttons for Triangle, Circle, Square, X, Select, Home and Start, Blu-Ray DVD controls for Top Menu, Popup Menu, Angle, Audio Channel and Subtitle movie features.
  • Blu-Link is an “advanced learning” universal remote control: learning button assignments from existing remotes. Non-volatile memory retains button assignments even when its 2 AA batteries are removed.
  • Blu-Link supports more than 400 brands of standard and HDTV televisions and flatscreens, 150 VCR brands, 200 Satellite Receiver models, 100 Cable TV Receiver brands, 50 DVR models and 200 home theater surround sound systems.
  • The Blu-Link Universal Remote Control for PlayStation 3 will be available September 1st through consumer electronics retail outlets, online reseller channels and from the Blu-Link website at http://www.blu-link.com. Suggested retail price is US $49.95.

“SMK’s new Blu-Link Universal Remote Control for PlayStation 3 is the definitive single remote control solution for Sony PS3 users,” said John Blair, General Manager of Branded Products for SMK-Link. “Not only does Blu-Link allow wireless control of PS3, including the control of Blu-Ray and DVD movies, it’s also an advanced universal remote for controlling the other devices in your home entertainment system.”
