BG Now Shipping Two New Z-Series Models

Innovative Planar Ribbon Loudspeakers Set New Benchmarks for Performance and Value

Carson City, NV, January 25, 2008 — BG Radia, the world leader in planar ribbon loudspeaker technology, is now shipping two new models from their critically-acclaimed Z-Series. The three-way floorstanding Z-92 ($1249.50 ea MSRP) and the versatile LCR Z-62 ($999 ea MSRP) form the heart of an affordable audiophile system that combines stunning looks and craftsmanship with lifelike clarity and detail. Both models in two finishes (Black Ash and Light Maple) are now in stock for immediate delivery.

The Z-92 and Z-62 are the newest additions to BG’s award-winning Z-Series of value-oriented stereo and Home Theater loudspeakers. With both models, BG advances into a new price category for its floorstanding and LCR offerings. At the same time, they bring to a wider audience a superb new level of loudspeaker innovation and sound reproduction.

All Z-Series speakers are adept at delivering astonishing Home Theater sound as well as faithful two-channel music. Using several innovations, including planar ribbon technology, Z-Series speakers effortlessly and accurately reproduce the quiet, silky sounds of a classical guitar, the hushed whispers of the human voice and the high-impact sound of Hollywood movies, making them favorites with today’s leading designers.

Both models employ an advanced three-way design with unique coaxially mounted mid and high frequency planar ribbon drivers that comprise an ideal design system for accurate sound reproduction. This is especially critical for center channel applications to ensure smooth and even coverage for all listeners.

BG engineers perfected the design of the Z-92 and Z-62 over a three-year period using its latest breakthrough technologies to once again deliver the amazing clarity and imaging for which BG speakers are known. Yet, their stylish, impeccably-crafted cabinets are well suited for contemporary tastes and lifestyles.

Commenting on the new BG Z models, CEO Warren Kocmond stated, “Our Z-Series has always represented excellent value and the new Z-92 and Z-62 are no exception. These two new Z models incorporate much of the same design philosophy, innovation and performance as our flagship Radia models but at a fraction of the price. Since their preview, our customers have been clamoring for the Z-92 and Z-62 and we are excited to announce they are now available.”

The new Z-92 is a moderately tall, floorstanding model that combines high-resolution transducers in an uncompromising proprietary configuration designed to deliver the highest performance possible. It is also the perfect companion to BG’s new Z-62 Left/Center/Right Loudspeaker.

Standing 44.25 inch high, the Z-92 is only 7.7 inches wide and 14 inches deep. It features a patented Neo3PDR ribbon tweeter coaxially mounted in front of a new 10×5-inch Neo10 midrange planar driver.

The patent-pending Neo10, a superb reference driver found in the company’s flagship Radia Series, reproduces wide-band sound with unsurpassed resolution and transparency, perfectly matching the Neo3PDR tweeter.

Resting 28.6 inches wide, 11.5 inches deep and only 7.7 inches high, the Z-62 also utilizes a patented Neo3PDR ribbon tweeter coaxially mounted in front of a new 10×5-inch Neo10 midrange planar driver.

BG’s patented planar ribbon drivers are highly accurate with ultra-low distortion. To match their superb performance, the Z-92 and Z-62 employ two 6.5-inch aluminum cone woofers with rubber surrounds that utilize a sophisticated Neodymium magnet system with patented double gap motor technology providing much lower distortion than conventional woofers.

The innovative motor design, stiff aluminum cones and the acoustically transparent cast-chassis combine to provide extremely linear operation, so that the new Z models deliver clarity and fine-detail resolution even at peak levels. In addition, the speaker’s symmetrically braced MDF cabinets and high-performance crossover networks further augment the synergy and seamless performance of the drivers.

The Z-92 and Z-62 are available in choice of two real wood finishes — black ash and light maple — both designed to beautifully complement a broad range of interior and Home Theater furnishings. Backing up the speaker’s promise of performance and quality is BG’s lifetime warranty which covers parts and labor.
