ASHBURN, MARCH 9, 2004 — BetterCables.com, a leading online manufacturer/retailer of high-performance audio and video cables, today announced the release of their new Digital Magic and Display Magic cables incorporating HDMI technology. The Digital Magic cable incorporates HDMI technology, while the Display Magic cables provide bi-directional compatibility between DVI and HDMI technologies. The cables are available now and may be purchased directly from BetterCables.com (http://www.bettercables.com) or via an Authorized BetterCables dealer.

“HDMI is a great new standard that will simplify the hook-up process while maintaining an all-digital transfer of audio and video signals,” said Brad Marcus, founder of BetterCables.com. “We pride ourselves on being first to market to support emerging technologies and are excited about making these cables available now.”

HDMI is the first industry-supported, uncompressed audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between any HDMI-enabled audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, and A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor or projector. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.
