BenQ today introduced the MX520 business projector offering 3,000 ANSI lumen brightness, 1.07 billion color display, ultra-high contrast ratio of 13,000:1, 3D format support, and energy-saving technology designed to complement small to medium spaces. Using BenQ’s SmartEco technology, lamp life can be extended up to 6,500 hours — twice as long as in previous generations.
BenQ SmartEco technology reduces the projector’s power consumption by up to 70 percent. In SmartEco mode, the MX520 automatically adjusts its lamp power to maximize energy savings by delivering the best contrast and brightness performance, using only as much light as needed. Other energy-efficient functions include Eco Blank, No Source Detected, and Standby modes that dim or blank out the screen whenever projection isn’t required. The MX520 also features a faster cooling time and if the projector is accidentally switched off, an instant restart function provides a 90-second period for immediately turning the device back on. For the user, this amounts to a lower TCO due to reduced lamp replacement costs, less maintenance than older devices, and lower total power consumption.
The MX520 also serves as an entertainment hub housing multiple connectivity options. Supporting various 3D formats and external devices such as Blu-ray and DVD players, the MX520 uses a Signal Power On feature to bring the projector to life automatically once an input signal is detected, adding setup speed and convenience to its unique proposition of value and performance.
