BDI just introduced a modern home theater cabinet, model Corridor 8179. It offers a strong visual aesthetic designed to complement a variety of home decors, while concealing components behind it’s dark wood facade. Designed by Matthew Weatherly, Corridor features solid walnut louvered doors that are finished with BDI’s rich chocolate stain. The doors are not only a bold visual element, they also provide IR-remote access and allow sound to flow freely. The top of the cabinet is a black, micro-etched glass surface that is fingerprint-resistant and provides a unique texture to the cabinet. Sized for large flat panels, Corridor can accommodate TVs up to 85 inches.
Inside, Corridor continues to earn its place as a home theater centerpiece with a series of useful integrated features. Behind the center double-doors, the large, adjustable center shelf accommodates many center-channel speakers or soundbar solutions, while also offering generous component storage. The two side compartments also feature an adjustable shelf, providing discreet speaker placement for excellent left- and right-channel sound separation. To preserve the life of components, Corridor is fully ventilated on all sides. Integrated cable management helps keep everything organized and removable back panels make for simple setup and maintenance. Optional hidden wheels within Corridor’s black steel legs allow for easy movement and convenient component access.
“Home theater furniture is not just a place to house a TV or store components,” said Bill Becker, BDI’s CEO & Design Director. “As the focal point of many a family room, home theater furniture should also make a design statement, enhancing the space where it exists. Corridor beautifully combines great furniture design with the needs of technology.”
